I have had the same problem with two different addresses. I know it is frustrating, but I take down every number that is left for "an important business matter" and call them twice. Keep a track of the numbers that you call, and if it repeats for more that 3 months, when you call ask to speak with a supervisor, this generally works. Be nice to them, they are only trying to get money that is owed to them.

Little by little the calls decreased.

If they are still giving out the number - I'm not sure what you can do, but I'm pretty sure that's fraud.

They could just continue to give out your number for some reason so you will have to do like everyone else said and continue to tell people that they have the wrong number or change your number. Be careful though, because this person could be using more of your personal information as well. This could be a form of Identity Theft and especially if they have more of your personal information they are using. If you are intersted in getting protected from Identity Theft or need to find out if you have been a victim or even need legal counsel please feel free to contact me. The company I work for offers these services. Feel free to check out our website, my contact info is on there.

Hope this helps some! Good luck and sorry for the trouble!

You have two options here

A) Keep telling them that they have the wrong number for this person and to discontinue contact

or

B) Change your phone number.

There's not alot that you can do about it. Then you run the risk of more harassing phone calls because you got a number that was used by someone else then disconnected that's in loads of debt.

Just the way it works these days.

Tell them emphatically that you are not that person, that person is unknown to you, and does not share that telephone number with you, and that if you don't stop receiving calls from them, you will take them to small claims court for undue harassment for overly inconveniencing you.

They most likely gave a false phone number (yours) at the emergency room.

Consider changing your number and get an unlisted number.
