When I was 18 I got 2 credit cards, each with a $200 limit. I ran them up and never payed them off because I lost my job shortly afterwards. By the time I got around to being able to pay them off, I owed over $1000 on one of them and a little over $200 on the other. Both of the debts have been closed out (?) but are hey going to just go away or will i have to pay them before they'll clear off my credit?

How much would it hurt... a few points? I want to take care of bonus mileage offers that come with new cards, but wonder if changing cards every year or two would hurt my credit rating.

Recently the transmission went out in my husbands truck and the price to fix it is more than the truck is worth. We decided it's time to buy a new truck, but I'm concerned that we don't have the credit to finance a $20k truck. I have financed a car before and all of my payments were made on time, and the car is now paid off. I pay all my credit cards (3) off every month, on time. We did have a large amount of debt, but we took out a loan (with a co-signer) to consolidate our debt. What are the chances with I could take out a $20k auto loan with this credit score?

I have missed 1 1/2 payments on my car lease agreement. I intend on doing a voluntary repo at the end of the month. However, I have given a written request for them not to contact me at work and they continue to call my employer and even told my boss that I was having problems with my lease. Is this not illegal for them to continue contacting me at work when I asked them not to? They haven't called my cell one time which I requested. What options do I have?

I mom has a large credit card debt, if she gets ill or dies. Can those bills that she hasn't paid be passed on to me?

Would I have to pay the bills she hasn't? One which include a student loan (parents plus loan), she took out for me?

Is there anyway creditors can make me pay that bill.
She is disabled and doesn't work, receives ssu

Should you pay the whole bill or is it ok to take a settlement? What is the point difference?

was because I have moved to a new house which did not show up on their system. This has now been rectified. How long should I leave it before I apply again as I don't want to keep getting refused.

I just got an additional credit card after working very hard to bring my credit score out of the toilet. I've had it less than a month, used it one time, and found out that for my $300.00 limit there is a $60.00 annual fee. I did not read the fine print, and I can afford to pay it, but I don't especially want to. I'm just afraid that if I cancel it so quick, that might look bad to other lenders, and bring my score down, even if there is no late payments/negative reporting.

not had any problem. Last July we moved across the country and our finacnces changed dramatically. We have asked them several times to see if they could lower the month payemnt and extend the duration of the loan. They say they can't do that. Does anyone have suggestions for us? We really actually no longer need the van....we have simplfied our lives greatly. I would rather they not have to reposses it(for credit reasons) but if it comes to it, it comes to it.

I screwed up years ago and I've already paid off those bad credit card debts. The only debts I owe now are a student loan (always paid on time), a new credit card (paid on time and only used for emergencies), and a car payment (paid on time).
How do I get my credit score to go up?

I paid off this account in 2002 and I am just now getting a collection's notice. The first communication I recieved said "Final Notice"! I know I paid this off but being that it was so long ago I no longer have proof. This account has never showed up on my credit report. Is there anything that I can do to not have to pay it again?

I've started my own business not long ago. At the end of December, I billed one of the clients for the services provided that month and mailed it with "Net 15" due date. It is 1 week past due now. When should I follow it up? How do I ask when the payment is coming? Basically, how is it done?

Thanks!

I keep my card in my wallet at all times how then does a debit card become demagnitized? I have a loc (line of credit) attached to my checking account. does this have something to do with that? if so how/why would that matter? Any information would be helpful in the mean time should I just wait for the new card in march or get my current card remagnitized and continue to use it in the mean time?

I have no credit card debt and am very stable financially. One of my credit cards has over a $24,000 credit limit. This credit card has just sent me 0% balance transfer checks. The maximum fee for using these checks is $75 and the 0% deal is until Dec 2007. Should i write one of these checks to myself for $24,000 and keep that money in a 5.05% cd for 9 months? I am confident I can make the miminum monthly payments without problems. I also have other credit cards I use normally (and pay off every month) so I don't have to rely on this one for anything. Does this hurt my credit in any way?
