I gave notice on 8/21 and told the office I would be gone by 9/7. Since rent was due on 9/1 (past due after 9/5) they told me to just wait until 9/7 and get a final bill before I made a payment. I paid via their online system on 9/7. That day, they mailed me a final statement, which had already been paid. Last week, I received a call from a collection agency regarding my past due rent. I explained it had been paid online, I even had the confirmation email and print out. The office claimed they never received it and didn't have my contact info to call/mail me about not receiving it. This was a blatant lie. First, they mailed my final billing statement to my new address that I had provided. Secondly, the statement sent to the collection agency had all of my contact info on it (home ph, work, cell, addy). They reported me delinquent just SIX DAYS after they mailed my final bill, even though it had been paid. My credit score dropped 100pts! The online co. said no way they didn't get notice

Ok, here is the situation.

I was served with papers notifying me that a creditor was suing me for an outstanding balance from the hospital on the birth of my daughter. I sent them a check for the full amount being requested, which included the interest they are asking for.

A couple weeks later, I get a letter from the law firm, requesting $103 more dollars, with no explanation as to what this balance is for.

I sent them back a fax, requesting documentation of these futher charges and have heard nothing back.

In the meantime, I received notification from the court that our court date has been set for November 8.

I don't have the $100 sitting around ( I took an advance off my credit card to pay the initial $2200) so what are my options here?

I do not believe that they can force me to pay a balance with no substantiation, yet here comes the court date.

What should I do?

My daughter was named (by me) as an authorized card holder on the account in question. I didn't think about this before I filed. I was granted the bankruptcy by the court. As for the account in question, I believed I alone was responsible as all billing was in my name only. But now that account is showing up on HER credit report. Is there something we can do to get this account removed from her credit report? If so, exactly what is the process?

I have been on Social Security Disability now for 1 year. I spent 6 years before that unemployed and fighting to get help for my disability. If you are familiar with SSD, you know you may be in for a wait. My wife works full time and has been there for seven years. We acquired a lot of medical bills while I was down and are presently in the process of paying those off( we allowed a lien to go through on my wifes paycheck at 25% taken out for the medical bills) Our problem now is that we need financing for a car and don't know where to turn. Both of our credit ratings are lower now due to the medical bills. We were able to buy our house over a year ago using just her credit rating. Now mine is higher than hers due to the lien on her payroll but still fairly low.

Let me explain the situation. A month ago, I bought a watch from a little store in my local mall. I had 30 days to return it and I came back a week before the 30 days. The lady wouldn't let me return it because she said the card I gave her to credit amount back wasn't the same as the one I had to used to purchase the item. Well, my mom had gotten our credit cards upgraded and she cut up our old ones. The lady also said that since I came in before the 30 days was up, I could return it at any time. I tried to get that in writing but she said she wasn't allowed to sign anything. She is also the manager by the way. So, I had a good friend of mine call her top boss and he agreed to issue me a refund. I went back yesterday and the manager wasn't there and she won't be back till Tuesday which is past my 30 day period. Do you think she will try anything? Do you think if I go in on Tuesday she will just say it's past the 30 days you can't return it?

I'm recently seperated from my wife and we're getting a divorce. She kicked me out of our apt, and I'm at a friends. I can't stay here forever. I need at least $5000 for move in expenses since I have nothing, furniture, bed, sheets etc. I'm recently re-building my credit and have a new credit card I've been using to live for the last three weeks. I have a good solid paying job, but no savings.

Do you think my bank will give me a temp loan? I'm expecting a bonus from my work in Dec so I can pay it off then.

What should I do?
