I recently had my credit card number stolen. They used the number without entering the pin. I cancelled the credit card so I was wondering if even if they have the number would they still be able to use it?
SO if they have the number can they still use it?

I was notified yesterday that my plant is closing down. My wife was told 2 weeks ago that her plant was closing down to move overseas for cheaper labor. There are no other jobs within an hour and 1/2 of our home that pays over $10 an hour. I am wanting to go to college to get a degree so I can get a good job.The problem is the only jobs in our area are minimum wage jobs and it takes both of us making over $10 an hour full time to make ends meet. We have already got rid of everything we didn't need bill wise. We had our phone service cut off, our internet off, and our satalite tv turned off. We have around $5000 in miscleaneous debt that we have been trying to pay off ( car payment, credit cards, and bank loans) We have a mobile home which is several years old and can't sale it for what we owe. Anyone got any suggestions on paying these off instead of bankrupsy? Having this mobile home we cannot relocate to find decent paying jobs. Should we consider bankrupsy? Hows it work?

i got a message on my answering machine that went as follows: "this is a message for jason (last name). by continuing to listen to this message you are acknowledging that you are jason (last name) this is angela smith, a debt collector calling from asset acceptance...." my wife heard this message before i had a chance to play it and was wondering if she is allowed to disclose that information on an answering machine. if not, i need to know which laws were violated and what kind of recourse i can take.

I have a question about letter # 3 "Request to delete inaccurate information.

If an item is inaccurate, do you have to give a reason why?

Or can you just say it's inaccurate?

The credit bureaus have to tell you why it is accurate right?

since may of this year i stopped paying my credit cards because of financial status. i'm enrolled in a payment plan to file for bankruptcy. i use my checking account to pay utilities, car payments, and rent.one of the credit cards was with my bank. now i'm trying to open a checking account with a different bank just to pay bills and not loose the little money i have with my original bank.i was denied today with a certain bank because of my so called credit, yet i'm not looking for a credit card, but a way to pay bills.

that is negative, how long will that stay on and what about items that are paid and or not paid yet. Is it the same time frame for paid and unpaid accounts. When it does fall off, does it go off the credit report entirely?

I still have my card. Nobody apart from my card provider knows my PIN (not even me) as I never use this card for drawing cash. The cash was drawn from a town I have never visited.

I think I will get a refund from the card provider but they won't tell me how this fraud is possible

Therefore I wondered if any one knows how the b***ards can still get away with this crime at the expense of the provider - and ultimately, us the customers

Has anyone on here ever had any experience with having a car impounded. What was the process if you chose to not pick the car up. How did it affect your credit score? Do they really take you to court? Did you ever pay the remaining balance after the car sold, even though your not the owner anymore?

This is more of a credit question than anything. One of my cars got impounded this past Saturday. I am tempted to leave it at the impound, not pay on it anymore and risk getting a repo on my credit (which is probably stupid because my score is 739) because I have 2 other cars that I am paying on. My question is this, how many points will I lose on my credit because of the one car being repo'd or will it even affect me at all because my other 2 cars are being paid on. I hope I didnt confuse you.

I was just wanting to make sure, does that mean that they will charge you the APR percent on every single purchase you get? Can you ever purchase and pay on time and not pay APR?

Someone told me I'll hurt my credit if I close them and that I should use them every so often and pay them off ASAP. I feel if I have them laying around, I'll use them! Even if I destroy the cards themselves I still have most of the info to use them online, etc. So do I: close the accounts or leave them open and hope I don't get myself in over my head again?
