I recently had my credit card number stolen. They used the number without entering the pin. I cancelled the credit card so I was wondering if even if they have the number would they still be able to use it?
SO if they have the number can they still use it?

no. If it was canceled it is voided and can't be used again even if you were to find it.

In the old days, when merchants had to look up the numbers in those little books, maybe. Today, however, with instant computer verification, it should not be possible.

Hopefully you reported it as stolen and not simply cancelled it. If you cancelled it, your credit score will drop. If you reported it stolen, the company will replace your card with a new one, different number.

If your credit card was stolen you need to contact Equifax and let them know. Even though you have cancelled the card, the information can still be used to steal your identity. They will put an alert on your credit report.
