I'm recently seperated from my wife and we're getting a divorce. She kicked me out of our apt, and I'm at a friends. I can't stay here forever. I need at least $5000 for move in expenses since I have nothing, furniture, bed, sheets etc. I'm recently re-building my credit and have a new credit card I've been using to live for the last three weeks. I have a good solid paying job, but no savings.

Do you think my bank will give me a temp loan? I'm expecting a bonus from my work in Dec so I can pay it off then.

What should I do?

The costs are more related to first, last and broker fee to move in. I live in NYC and it's close to impossible to get an affordable place on yuor own without the netowrk of lanlords provided theough a broker. So upfront it's a big cost, but in the long run it would be cheaper to pay $1100 a month instead of $1800 a month.

Sir you don't need more debt . you need 2nd 3rd jobs to pay for all the upcoming expenses.
save the money, get a small safe 1 bed room .
buy a cheap mattress some boxes a table and chair a light all cash and used. You'll be working so it will not matter. Don't go into slavery over furniture unless you like being owned by bankers.

The bank will look at how long you have been at your job but telling them you will be getting a bonus won't do anything to persuade their decision. Their decision to give you a personal loan is based on your credit report.
