and steps up to the teller.
"Patricia Black, how may I help you?", the teller says.
"I'm looking for a loan" says the frog
"I'm sorry, but we don't give loans to frogs."
"Why not? I need a loan, and this is a bank."
"Well, for one thing, you probably don't have any major assetts that we can use as collatoral."
"I have collatoral!" says the frog, and he pulls out a silver trinket.
"I'm sorry, we're looking for something a bit more valuable--like a house." says the teller.
"Well if you're not going to grant me a loan, at least let me speak to your manager!" grumbles the frog. So the teller calls the manager.
"What's the problem?" asks the manager.
"This frog wants a loan, but all he has is this little doohickey." The frog holds up the trinket.
"Oh my gosh..." says the manager, who is amazed upon seeing the frogs trinket "do you know what that is?..." the manager trails off before he yells...

"THAT'S A KNICK-KNACK, PATTY BLACK, GIVE THE FROG A LOAN!"

Do balance transfers negatively affect your credit score/report? I usually transfer balances to my 0% APR balance transfer card with no fees and then pay them off. I never have a late payment, etc, but was wondering if transferring balances directly affects your credit report or score. Thanks!

A company is offering me £88 if I repay £100 within 2 weeks, or £83 if I repay £100 within 4 weeks. I don't know how to work out APR - does anyone know?

Is there a flat fee for each credit card transaction, in addition to a %of the amount charged to the card? or is it only a flat fee, or is it only a %? (if it is only a %, why would some restaurants have a 'minimum $x purchase with credit card' limit?)

I have a derogitory report on my credit I am trying to get removed and I've been looking at a few different ways to do it......I found one way where you demand "Validation" from the collection agency.

What happens if the derogitory charge is still with the original creditor?

Its been 5 1/2 years and it still seems to be with the same company. I think it was purchased by Citibank but it still lists
the same original information through Transouth.

Is there a way to still dispute this?

Do you use a different tactic?

We are currently in a chapter 13, and we had to relocate for my husband's job. Are we allowed to lease and apartment and would an apartment complex be willing to rent to us?

Okay, so I made some mistakes when I turned 18, you know, like getting 5 different credit cards and maxing them out. I've actually paid all my balances down (including paying off 3 of those credit cards) and am almost all done (I will be "debt free" next March). However, I also understand how the Fico score works. I realize Fico is about the be replaced by the new system, but from the sounds of it, same basis for scoring.

Anyway, so now I'm looking to get a new credit card to keep my score up. I'm debating between Capitol One & American Express. My reasons for those two are because of recommendations from people who have been where I am and from the sounds of it, they're both good credit card companies (I know, kind of an oxymoron, but you get the idea). Strong insights and thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I am disputing something on my credit report
that was filed some time ago. I checked my
credit and it shows two different agencies for
the same account. One, has an address, but
it looks like its out of business. The other is
Citibank Auto. So I just need the Citibank address
so I can send the dispute letter.

I filed bankruptcy in 1999 and since then have really tried to get my bills payed on time to reestablish my credit. I have had this credit card for 3 years and was never late. This month was crazy and I somehow forgot. Is this that big of a deal as far as my credit rating?

I just did a free credit report with eqifax and experian and its not showing all the depts I owe. I owe collection agencies for Washington Mutual, Bank of America, & Ebay a total of 600.00 all together. These were from a few years ago. Do I still have to pay? Most of the agencies stopped calling me.
