I have my mom to co sign on me on an auto loan. But because of my good income I think it would be better if I just get added as an authorized user to her credit cards and I go and apply for the auto loan.

How do I work out getting all of her credit history. Just get added and her history from the credit cards goes on my credit report correct? Fill me in please. Thanks

I've been a loyal customer to this card company for three years, i have never been in default on anything (that includes other accounts, rent etc.) in my life, i always pay over the minimum balance and i have a good credit score, but everytime i call the company to ask to lower it they say they can only go down like one point. The apr is 21% fixed, isn't that high?

How exclusive really is the American Express Platinum Card? It costs $300 a year in annual fee and requires $50K-$60K in annual income to apply. Is it worth it? Any personal story to share?

PS: I am talking about the charge card, not the platinum credit card.

I'm trying to close out my credit card account! The rep gave me the balance of my account & I send the payment in before the due date! Low & behold I got a statement that I still owe 27.50 which was interest added to my note (they called it rolling interest). If I pay that amount will that close the account?
No wonder people with credit cards never will get out of debt! Help.....I'm getting deeper in debt!!!!!

I bought a book from a merchant on Amazon, and they erroneously sent me two instead of one. I sent it back and they say they've never received it and are threatening to report me to the credit bureaus. I don't have an account with them, I paid by credit card. How can they do this? Is it even legal?

some type of credit. How do I check to see if someone is committing identity theft? I would like to resolve this before I turn 18 so that my credit won't be scarred for life.

I’m worried about giving my credit card details over the InterNet to buy things (not porn). I’ve heard that if one’s credit card details get into the wrong hands one’s liability is not limited by the credit limit on the card but someone could keep making debits even if I cancelled the card. My father says Amazon is safe. I’ve heard that Paypal isn’t. What about a debit card? I’m looking for something where I have limited liability of fraud.

A company put on my credit report that I didn't pay a bill; however, I did pay it. I called the company and they told me they would have it removed off my credit report within thrity days. Well, thirty days goes by and it still wasn't removed. I called transunion and disputed the information, and gave them the name of the person who told me that they would remove it off my report. About a month later I got an updated credit report, but instead of it being deleted they only updated it as paid. I called the company back up and spoke to the same manager I did before. She told me that she would write them a letter to have it removed. Thrity days later it is still on there. I dispute it again and all I get is a letter saying that it has been verified, and it is not only on transunion, but equifax as well.

Okay here is the deal.... we had a credit card that we only charged our monthly cell phone payment to (it was charged auto) we would pay the $55 balance on the card each month in full.

Well a few months ago we get a note from the cell company stating the card keeps getting denied, after calling the Visa card co. they say we declared bankrupcty. NO WE DIDNOT!!! We have perfect credit and all accounts are paid in full. After playing the hold on game they come back with 'ohhh we will take care of this' they didn't say their mistake BUT having never declared bankruptcy we know it's their mistake. Now after pulling our credit report it states this "Ch 7 bankruptcy discharged"
it looks like we declraed bankruptcy. What does this mean how does this affect my credit now? What can I do to prove they did us wrong and made a mistake? I did cancel the card immediatly after because they are idiots.
Please answer only if you have experience w/these things. THANKS

I am trying to get my credit in good standing and I dont have any credit cards right now. I dont want to go applying for everything because that will look bad on my report.

I was told that a secured card will help me build up my credit
Is that true?
Are there easier ways to go about this task?

...My credit rating has been going continually down, according to my credit monitoring service. It is now only rated as "fair".

I only make credit card purchases when I have enough money in my bank account to pay the bill in whole when the bill arrives, and that is exactly what I do.

I use my cards to buy things on the Internet (usually quite small in amount), and occasionally to make large purchases such as airline tickets (twice in last two years) - for several thousand dollars.

One of my friends told me that making large purchases and always paying the balance in whole is bad - I am supposed to only make the minimum payment every month to have a good credit rating. This makes no sense to me. I would think that paying the balance as quickly as possible would be an indication of responsible financial behaviour and therefore I would be a lower credit risk with improving credit ratings.

Are there any credit card or bank employees out there who can explain this? Thanks.

I'm a college student going through my first pregnancy and the bills seem overwhelming. I sorted out a personal payment plan for myself a little too late 2 of the 8 accounts are in collections. I've managed to widdle them down and should be done paying within the month. Will paying the accounts off give my credit a bit of a boost? (those 2 are the only ones one my credit report)
