my husband got a notice that the trustee has filed for dismissal of his and his ex wife's bankruptcy. if this happens, then what happens? from the statements hes gotten, all the secured items have been paid. it was down to just paying off the unsecured items. (in their divorce, he got the kids, she got the bankruptcy instead of child support- she lost her job, and hasnt paid on it in months) what will happen if its dismissed? will everything be included again, to the point that he has to worry about losing his car again? the house wasnt in BK, so i dont think thats a threat anyway. but any info is appreciated.

I'm serious...I have a comcast phone/internet/cable bill that totals $700 something dollars in my name...the person who did it (who I know personally) told me that they changed the last 2 digits on my ssn. I have 2 bills, and one that says that theyre putting it on my credit report, for evidence.

Unfortunately, I dont know my ssn by heart, and I know that if i ask the person for it, they will know why I'm asking, and wont tell me. Therefore, I dont even know if the ssn is mine or not. I figured that was the most important thing as far as who the bill is sent to.

So, what do I do? if the ssn is mine, or maybe even if it is not, I'll have a credit score already. The person who did this has done it to many people, her son, her mother, and her sons girlfriend...and thats people that I know of in the last 2 years...So thats another issue....I Know For A Fact that the person will continue to put bills into my name once I am an adult...and I wont be able to see the bills anymore (contd

I racked up considerable credit card debt in college. Yet I am very good about paying in every month and have never defualted or been late with a payment for ANY kind of debt. My income is above average but my total debt is about 1/4 of my income. how much of a problem does the bank view this as?

OK. Let me start by saying it is NOT my debt or anyone related to me. Apparently the person has the same last name as me. They called my houst on tuesday looking for this person and i asked them to be removed. they called me again last night and were extrmemly rude. When I asked to speak to a manager the girl rudely said he was on the line. He broke in the call. Refused to give me their names, where the were calling and what they were calling about. the number came up blocked on the ID. I want to file a complaint. They also left a mesage on my machine yesterday afternoon. When i called the number to ask why they were calling they hung up on me. When i called back again to figure out what was going on. they refused to give me any information unless i gave them my full name. THey were extremely rude and hung up on me again. Has anyone ever filed a complaint with a collections agency and how did you go about doing it? THIS IS NOT MY DEBT. I DID NOT CO-SIGN and DON'T KNOW THIS PERSON

Is there anything my father can do?
My dad was required by FEMA to complete a test for some crisis management for work. He did and submitted the information. They sent him his certificate in the mail but some ****** at FEMA put his entire name along with his social security number on the outside of the envelope for everyone to see. I was outraged as was my father. I thought he should call FEMA or even the police. Any postal worker could have written that down. What should we do? My father feels that its too late.

Every time I go to check my email, I'm bombarded with credit score offered. I understand it's what some people are asking about or it's advertisement, however, it's gotten very annoying.

She got several credit cards secretly, and ran up the charges, and now it is obvious she can't pay them off.
The first time this happened, as soon as I found out I paid them off, cause her interest rates were beteen and 17% and 23%. and we tord up the cards.
Now I've discovered she has more and the charges are too many for even me to pay off. I have no idea what all she bought and she doesn't remember.
What's going to happen to me, when they come after her?

What happens to the credit card application after the bank accepts it from the applicant? I have heard that they are bundled together wth other credit card applications and sold off to invetors in the secondary market as financial assets (securities). Is this true? Is this why I can't get it back?
