you can open a bank acct once you obtain a social security number and show your passport or identification card for identification purposes. the social security card will not allow you to work but only to open a bank acct. as you are a non US resident. you should look into legalizing your stay here and also obtaining a driver's license. and learning the English language.

They won't ship the card to a foreign address, but I believe you can get this card to put money away.
