I applied with Citibank and received and checking and savings account with them. I have a discharged bankruptcy(9/05) and I'm on checksystems for US Bank. It's best to go in and speak with somebody at the bank instead of applying online...worked for me!

They might do a credit check. But the check that they will do without fail is pull Chexsystem. Unless they are one of the few banks that does not rely on Chex. Citibank is one that will pull Chex.

I agree with the previous poster, don't get an account with anyone unless you absolutely have to.

Your best bet would be to find a bank, other than Citi, that will open an account in your name alone.

If you are in the Chexsystem, you won't be allowed to open an account regardless of having someone else as the primary.

Whether it is Chex or your credit report, you might go to chexvictims.com and look for banks that do not pull Chex. Odds are if they don't pull Chex, they may not pull a credit report.

sure you could. yet, understand that maximum banks might understand the reason you desperate to maintain it separate too!! (your no longer married). So i does not enable that complication you the two way. you will the two be judged via your guy or woman credit rankings continuously, and at the same time as an entire on any application your the two indexed no remember the place or with whom your checking money owed are held.

do not open join account. It will effect both of you later if one of you getting marry . please do not create a mess that you have to clean it up later. my sugestion is rebuild your credit and open when time is right. and it is not fair for your cousin eaither, you pull him/her down too
