I took out a $600 loan from a payday advance store. With interest, I owe them $720 in 14 days. I didn't realize that I had to pay in 14 days. I thought I could pay a set amount every month until paid off (like I did 2 yrs ago at Finance Security). They have called me 2 times and I told them that I have NO money right now. I get disability once a month. I had that on the application. Does anyone have advice on how I can pay this off without them having to take me to court. Can I pay monthly towards a collection agency?

I just got a call from my credit card company MBNA. They were offering a credit monitoring plan. Of course my answer is no anyway. But it is 8:52 p.m. When I told this to the woman, she said they are allowed to call until 10 p.m. Does anyone know what specific rules/laws govern the hours telemarketers can call? I would like to call MBNA tomorrow and complain/request I not be called after 7 p.m. (Husband sleeps for early morning work hours).

I went on www.freecreditreport.com and they require you type in a valid credit card number. Is there ever a company that allows you to see your credit report without a need to type in a credit card?

I recently had to charge a large amount of medical bills on my credit card because of unexpected expenses from a recent operation. I have medical insurance, but a high deductable and co-pay. I will never be able to pay the cards off with my income and contacting the card companies has gotten me nowhere. I haven't been late on the payments yet, but soon will be. Is there a waiting period between the last charge and declaring BK?

I've been receiving annoying calls from a collection agency stating I owe my old school a certain amount. I stopped attending the school in 2003 and in 2005 I began getting notices from the collection agency. They have lowered my score for this month but i want to know if they can continue lowering it because as much as i feel like they have no right to have my money i'd rather pay and get everything over with. Help me!

Is it better to call or write the Creditor and tell them you will pay off the balance if they change your account status? Should you get confirmation in writing? I have a few accounts in negative and I would like to get them paid off.. Would that help my score? Does it matter?
