I have worked for some elderly people where I live, cleaning houses and catering, nothing official, but when I put the contact information of these people on applications and get called in for an interview, I always get "Well that might be a form of experience, but it's not a real job where you have to punch in, etc, blah blah blah. We're looking for someone with real experience"

Now I'm stuck. What should I do, or how should I fill out my applications? I need some help

I've wanted to get involved in the medical field assiting patients ever since my grandmother died in long term care, I saw how horrible their care could sometimes be and think people deserve better. I want to start looking into what I need to do to get trained for it but I have a lot tattoos on my arms, so I'm wondering would this make it hard for me to find a job in this field? I know times have changed but theres still a lot of ignorant people out there when it comes to tattoos, I wouldn't want invest so much time and money into it if I'm not even going to be able to get a job.

I've heard it's roughly £7.50 per hour, which includes the night premium. I've worked it out as about £250 a week, after tax.

A lot of us are told that our jobs should be rewarding and challenging and fun. Sounds like communist propaganda to me; anything to make us work more and keep us hoping for that last bit of fun that never really comes. Can you really have fun when there is no job security?

But how will your job allow you to enjoy your life? After all, we work to enjoy our lives through the material rewards acquired with money. So how will your job do this for you?

my boss of seven years told me he was making me take a four week leave because in three weeks and four days my wife was having brain surgery and he thought i would not be there for his company at that time. the next day he sent me a letter saying he was sorry but they were letting me go and he wished me the best in my future. This meant he knew my wife couldn't have the surgery and he knew that she cancelled it the day he put me on leave. now we stand to lose our home and car and health car for us it out we can't even afford medications now. Is all this even legal for him to do to me i have never had a write up or warning ever? And i worked for a small video store chain in the far corner of Arkansas. Take 2 Video is not a difficult job to do but Mike, my exboss, refused to even discuss with me what was happening instead he ran away and said he wasn't ready to talk to me but he would call me the next day well seven days later and i guess he wants to remain that kind of a person.

My girlfriend often works 45-60 hrs/week. But she doesn't get the "time and a half", that I thought was a law of some sort. Instead, after 40 hrs, her boss pays her at a much lower rate for those extra hrs. She doesn't complain, but I tell her she should, with my thinking it's a law. Am I wrong or is employer in the right?

I recently applied for a job where I will work 7 days on and 7 days off. During the week that I am not employed, the company could call me, although it is unlikely. What are some other jobs I could do during the weeks I have off? I am ok with hard labor and outdoor jobs. What all jobs are out there that are either flexible with hours or work one week on one week off? Any ideas are appreciated! Thanks y'all!!!

PS. Please don't answer with rude or unethical answers. I am looking for a job for a person with GOOD MORAL STANDARDS!!! :) thanks again.

Ok so I currently have a job working at a Motel at the front desk part time.I had recently applied for another job which was a lot better paying with full time as well as benefits. My husband really wants to see me work somewhere that I will have more hours and better money.I applied about 4 days ago and they said they couldn't get back with me until next week because for this line of work I needed a background check and when that comes back they could talk to me about employment.they told me to go ahead and put my notice in but i didn't because I wanted to make sure I had the job first.Well they called me today and want me to start tomarrow for the training class. But I work at the job I have now tomarrow.I can't put off the class cuz its mandatory to take.If I don't take it they can't hire me.My hubby told me just to up and quit this one but I don't like to burn any bridges. What would you do in this situation.Quit or stay and posibally lose the chance of a great oppertunity?

I am an undergraduate[freshman] and am a pre-nursing major. I was looking over the course that I have to take and there is A LOT of biology, chemistry, and 1 or 2 statistics classes. My question is how hard is this major? To me, these classes seem very challenging. (I am REALLY bad at Math)..I'm worried about how challenging this will be.
Also....my goal is to become a CNM..certified nurse-midwife. Once I make it into then nursing program, when will I start to learn about becoming the type of nurse I want to me..instead of learning the general stuff?

I would really appreciate it if people would be serious about my question.

I haven't been back to my company's building due to a bad situation there since mid-September. I am leaving now
and have a new job.

I have worked from an alternative location with my
boss's permission.

Do I have to go back for the exit interview with
HR, or is it reasonable to ask to conduct the
exchange by phone and obtain paperwork
by mail or email?

So i got a promotion in Oct. I am a LVN working in a Skilled nursing facility in san diego. My boss asked me to be their new Director of Staff Development. They didn't have a nurses to take my place so I never got to get oriented to my soon to be new postion. finally at the begining of dec, my replacement came. I went to a 3 day certification class for my new job. But my boss didn't ever have me oriented to my new job in the building. I walked into blindly 2 weeks ago. The nursing assistants havent been supervised for a while now and arent responding to dicipline very well. They all went to the administrator, my boss and complained saying they are going to quit. My question is am I to blame. I am trying my best without and orientation or help from anybody. My boss told me he thinks i am not stepping up to the plate and taking over, doing my job. Told me i could easily be put back on the floor as a regular nurse. I feel very hurt and betrayed. I am trying my best and need help.
