Ok, so I was fired from my last job because customers complained that I was rude. I was never out-right rude to someone I'm just a quiet person and I think alot of people take that as I'm being rude to them. So now I need to find a new job how would I tell my potential boss about this without sounding like I'm really bad at customer service. Also, when I asked my last boss what should I say when I get asked for the reason I was terminated he said that he doesn't know, just whatever I can think of. They said they will give me a good reference I just dont know how to put this without sounding like someone they shouldn't hire.

I'm applying for a job as a library assistant which I really want, it fits in well with my history degree, is part time (I have a young baby so I want a part time job) and is very local.

What sort of qualities would I have to highlight? I have to fill in a section on "work experience, interests etc" and tell them about "myself, my future career plans ans show how this makes me suitable for the job.

Any suggestions? I have a history degree, have worked mainly as a temporary secretar/typist up till now, but also as a shop assistant (serving the public). I have a one year old son who is already a member of the library, I enjoy reading and use the library regularly for myself and also baby books for my son.

I hate filling in application forms because I never know how to "sell" myself! Help!

For jobs like Starbucks, do employers interview every applicant or do they only pick the applicants with the qualification that they are looking for and only interview those people?

Is it true that if someone is to get employed after having a job interview, he/she would be notified right after the interview is over instead of waiting for days to get notified by a letter or a phone call from the organization? Have a nice day.

My grandad is on Social Security, and he is able to apply for fuel assistance, but needs to produce certain documents, one includes a copy of his social security check. Last night he cashed it, and forgot to make a copy of it beforehand.

His apartment is freezing, and he's worried that he will have to wait another month all because he forgot to make a copy. Is there anything we can do?

I have an old boss that is giving me bad references. I quit there with no notice, and that started a dispute between them and me that elevated and got the gov. involved. Now I am looking for a second job again, and he is giving me bad references. Can I leave That job off applications? It will not leave a gap in employment history. If I leave it off is there a database for job history on someone. Or is there a do not hire database. I checked my credit report and there was nothing about job on there. If I leave this employer off future applications how will anyone know?

I have a full-time office job during the week and also work a part-time retail job on the weekends only. My availability has always only been Saturday and Sunday because I have a full-time job. I've had my retail job for almost 8 years now and know I am well liked because I work hard. This year, I was told after-the-fact that they put me on the schedule to work on Black Friday. Since I didn't show up for work, they put me down as what they call a "No-Show Employee." Can they fire me for this without giving me proper notice? FYI I am over 40 and female and have a good employment record. I am hoping there are some lawyers out there who see this question and/or a law student who can provide me with an answer. If they did fire me, would I have grounds for a discrimination lawsuit? Thanks in advance for your answers.

I am thinking of leaving home when I turn 18 because of serious issues at home. I am currently 15 and I need to start thinking about how to make money to financially support myself. I live in Japan right right now and go to a private international school here. I really want to go to a college in America. I know I need to find jobs already at this time, but the problem is my parents don't let me go outside the house alone or socialize with my friends (meaning I can't find any excuses to go outside the house). Then, I thought doing jobs on the internet would do. However, I came to realize that even if I do find a job, the money would either be transfered to a bank or through mail. Since my parents do not allow me to work, I certainly wouldn't want them finding out about this. I really can't find any solution.I can't seem to sleep or focus on anything because of the things happening to me.Advice on how to be able to live independantly, what to take care of and money wud rly be appreciated

I work for a hotel as a front desk clerk. The manager scheduled me to work nine days in a row. When I confronted him about this he said it was in two different pay periods so he could do this. He told me that he works more than that. Is this legal?
