I am a teacher looking for a freelance writing job. Any ideas as to where I may find work in educational magazines, giving advice to teachers or any other more general freelance work, like copywriting, travel writing or other aspects.

I'd be interested in getting involved. I'm very passionate about the environment and feel strongly that people need to get involved over this important issue. Currently I'm studying mathematics and philosophy at university, so I've had plenty of experience writing essays and considering arguments from many different view points. Good luck with your magazine-I really hope that it is successful!

For more general freelance writing work, check craigslist.com - I've seen that kind of jobs there.

For educational magazines, a freelancer would write articles and submit them to the editor to see if they're interested. Before you do, examine the magazine closely to see what kind of things they publish, and how long the articles usually are.

Good luck.

Writers and Artists Yearbook or The Writers Handbook is always a good investment (2008 editions out now). Have a look on Amazon for reviews of what they cover.

Good luck!
