With H & R Block you will be signing a non compete contract which will disallow you do this.

Not unethical, but you will do the best work if you only work for one or the other-
it's taxes, and that's complex
Pick the one you like the best
If you chase 2 rabbits, probably you won't catch either one
Good Luck

Hmmm...while they are competitors, you are just preparing taxes. I don't know that I'd consider it unethical, but I do think it would be confusing. They don't do things the same way. For your sake, I wouldn't work both jobs at the same time.

Carly is correct you will sign a contract with Block that prohibits you working for JH at the same time. I am sure that JH has such a contract as well.

Unless you are the only person in the office do not believe the visions of wealth they would have you believe you will make. Reality is that you will have to be there for several years to make anything over minimum wage.

I worked for H&R 3 seasons and quit when I could not see charging people such outrageous fees to prepare a very simple tax return in a matter of minutes.

if either one has a policy against working for a competitor, that would make it unethical. if not, you might want to tell your bosses at both jobs anyway so it doesn't seem like you're covering it up.

not a problem, just like having a job at McDonalds and another at Wendy's!

Congrats on the jobs

Unless you have access to very sensitive corporate information (which you probably wont) I don't see any problem with it. They pay you, you work, end of story.
