If you live close enough to want to work there and you are truly interested, why not bring it in person to the office - you have the address. That is the only way you can get it there on time, unless there is perhaps a link on the Essence website to make your application online, or an email address for sending in resumes?

If you mail it tomorrow (the 31st) it will be too late. They won't get it the same day unless you are mailing it from the same city and by some miracle get it there and they process it before they pick up the mail to be delivered to that address. Considering that's New York City and not a small town, it's really unlikely you'd have that miracle. Sorry.

That's hard to say. If they mean, they will not accept any apps that are not in their mailroom on Dec 31, then I am afraid you are out of luck.
I'd mail it anyway, tomorrow, early as you can get to the PO, and send it by overnight mail.)or Fedex or UPS) They may mean, POSTMARKED by Dec 31. you must decide if the few $$ for overnight mail is worth the chance they may mean "postmarked."
