I'm an advertising person and looking for ideas about a CREATIVE stand-out-of-the-pack format for a one-page cover letter for a creative ad agency.

If you want to get an idea of how creative we're talking about here, the last intern to their fashion department put her letter in the form of a dress on a 1-foot model.

But advertising is far more open so really, let the ideas flow. It has to be at that level- just pretty doable.

My friend got a job and during the interview the manager didn't talk at all about the dress/apperance code. She dyed her hair bright pink afterwards and showed up to work the 1st day with her crazy pink hair. The manager said she cannot work there because her hair is in violation of the dress code. Do you think my friend should have been told this during the interview? My thoughts on this is that the manager probably didn't suspect her to dye her hair so didn't mention it during the interview. What are your thoughts?

He is from a very prestigious Ivy League undergrad university and had a great summer internship in this summer. He now wants to apply to Goldman Sachs as a summer intern but is worried that his grades will pull him down. There was no minimum GPA requirements for the internship but he still feels self conscious applying. what should i tell him?

I am a college student who has eighteen credit hours. Next semester, I have every Monday-Friday night available, and weekends open as well.

I currently work at an average chain restaurant and make about 300 a week working about three nights a week. I was thinking about getting another job three nights/days a week at a place like Olive Garden/Red Lobster/etc/etc.

I want to make about 500 a week so I can afford a new car.

I handle stress very well and think I can manage working about 35 hours a week with school.

Should I do another waitressing job, or should I get an easy fun job at the mall?

Any advice would be wonderful!

Supposedly I applied for this job via one job site (I use a spam email to send this stuff in case it is fake) and they replied to me today via my regular email (making me think I actually DID apply, as they have my regular email addy)..it's just been awhile and I can't remember, can't find the ad, (I've applied to lots and lots of jobs and this may have been in response to a blind ad, hence I wouldn't know the company name.)

The phone number exists as a land line, can't find any scam info on them online, (but if they are a scam they may have recently changed their name, I don't know), it is work-at-home but their application doesn't ask for typical spam phishing website info (I've seen lots of those phishing scam sites), they pay MONTHLY (this seems odd), no mispellings or weird English phrasing on letter, website fairly new...

How can I tell if this is a scam or legit?

My boss and I got into an argument over the phone and soon I will be going into the office. I have put up with his crap for 7 years and I've had enough. I already have applied for other jobs, but haven't heard anything yet. Should I tell my boss that I'm looking? Or keep this my own little secret and surprise him at the beginning of the year?

Had to move as the landlord hadn't been paying his mortgage even though I had always paid him on time. His bank gave us three day notice to get out. I asked employer for a few days off and was denied but had to quit as I had to move! I am getting unemployment but it's only 50% of what I was making and we are now behind on paying rent here at the new place. None of this was my doing and I am looking for work but haven't found it yet. Both my kids are in school and I am the only supporter of the family and don't know if I have any legal recourse against this employer. Prior to this I had excellent employee reviews, raises, bonuses. The person that denied the leave was not in a position to do that per the HR department and has been reprimanded but that doesn't help me. They have since filled my position. All this happened three months ago.

I have been trying to decide if it would make sense for me to finish my degree or not. Help!!

The facts: I am 27, I am a sales manager at a large company, I have a year left of full time credits to complete in order to attain my bachelors degree (I do have an associates). I have been employed by this company for 7 years and have been promoted 5 times all while attending night school. I want to change industries at some point, and even though I have a good resume based on work experience, I do not have the bachelors.

My question is how important is that word on a resume at this point in my career? Is it worth adding to my school loans, adding stress to my life, etc... Or should I be confident in my real world experience? All input is appreciated!!!

My offer letter says that I will have to pay back my hiring bonus if I leave my new job in less than 12 months. If I start the job and find that important details of the company and position were misrepresented during the interview process, is there a way that I can quit and not have to pay back the hiring bonus? What would they do to collect it?

I'm going to be getting my B.A. History in December. I'm sick of working part-time and want to have receptionisht/secretarial/medical billing-like work after graduation while I get my M.A Teaching. My question has to deal with structuring a resume. I have excellent academic credentials, 3.66 gpa, three honorary societies, Chancellor's List, Dean's List, International Honors College student, a Level III (highest level) certified college tutor. How should I structure my resume? Right now I have general eduation (university, degree), academic acheivements (the aforementioned things), related skills (time management, typing WPM, computer literacy), and work experience (tutoring is listed here). Is this sound, or should I eliminate certain things or reorder it??

It's not a job interview as I am only 14. It's for a student ambassador program called People to People that sends high school students on international trips during the summer. Everyone has to be interviewed, and they only accept 40 kids out of the entire region. I don't think it's a group interview but I'm not positive. Any tips on how I should act or what to say? I should also mention that it is my first interview.
