i applied for a job at a harris teeter which is a grocery store. the manager said i got the job but i need to take a drug test. are they suppose to give me a test or do i have to go to the doctor myself and get one.

They should provide you with the facility and paper work!
All you should have to do is set up the appointment in a timely manner!

P.S. You should NOT have to pay anything for it, the employer should take care of that!

Typically an employer will not pay to have you drug tested unless you have the job. The downside is most companies move very slowly with employment. My wife was recently hired by a large company, and didn't know she had the job until 6 weeks after her drug test. Best advice is to just sit tight and wait for an official word from your new employer, it may be a while but hang in there!

They will give you paperwork to get a test. By law an employer can not charge you any money / make you pay any money to get a test.

If you talked to the manager on the phone, I would go see them in person, so they can give you the paperwork.

Normally the employer sets up the appointment. Just make certain that you are available for when they say you're to go in.

They should give you some paperwork and let you know where it is that you must go and have the test done at.
