if i get fired for carrying a lower sales average than what is expected am i still eligible to receive unemployment in Michigan. it may be in our contract that we have to average 60 dollars in sales a day and im sitting at about 55 a day.

You could receive unemployment. Your problem, from the employer's perspective, is that your performance is not good enough. If you didn't show up for work or were a behavior problem, that would be different. Since unemployment benefits are paid by the employer through rates based on claims against them, it might cost more to give you unemployment benefits than to tolerate not having enough sales.

Even if you don't meet your sales goals, but are doing the job to the best of YOUR ability, you will not be denied unemployment. Your employer may try to fight it, but after the hearing will probably lose.

Totally depends on if your employer denies your claim or not.

How are the rest of the sales staff doing in this economy?

Worry about it, when it happens, not now. Just keep plugging away and you will get better at what you do.

That shouldn't affect your eligibility for unemployment comp. Misconduct would, but not for not meeting job standards.
