I am a college student who has eighteen credit hours. Next semester, I have every Monday-Friday night available, and weekends open as well.

I currently work at an average chain restaurant and make about 300 a week working about three nights a week. I was thinking about getting another job three nights/days a week at a place like Olive Garden/Red Lobster/etc/etc.

I want to make about 500 a week so I can afford a new car.

I handle stress very well and think I can manage working about 35 hours a week with school.

Should I do another waitressing job, or should I get an easy fun job at the mall?

Any advice would be wonderful!

I wouldn't try another job. I would try to pick up shifts where I am at. That will leave you open on your schedule if you need, but will give you more money if you need. You can always pick up a shift for the semester, but if the other servers have them all, this is a great way to supplement your income.

It is really hard to juggle two jobs, and school and homework, so I would think twice about a second job. It is hard on management to schedule all that, and for yourself as well.

Darden(O.G. Red Lob) has a week long training program and it will be hard for you to incorporate that into a busy schedule as well.

If you are looking for a job that pays very well, stick with waitressing. I worked double the amount that my friends did in college, and they were waitresses and made so much more money than I did. I would definitely say go for it. Just make sure your classes aren't too hard and you can manage the homework. It sounds like you handle stress well enough to manage it!!

If you are a good waitress, that with the tips would probably pay a lot better than a job at the mall for the same number of hours. But if you're getting burned out waitressing, go for the mall job.

you an make 500 dollars waitressing with just one job. Try the cheesecake factory, Houston's or melting pot. I've worked at red lobster and you're more than capable of makin that kind of money. GOOD LUCK

Ask your current job for more shifts. If they don't have any then I would try to get another job. Two serving jobs can be tough because most places set there schedule on business volume therefore no one has a "set" schedule and that can be tough with two jobs.
