My opinion is to sign up at temporary agencies and work whenever you want; that way you are not making a committment to an employer.

Dont know your age but if you are younger everyone needs babysitters so that they can go to holiday parties and do their shopping. In fact you could have a special Saturday where you keep the kids for several hours to play games and make crafts while the parents shop. You might also be able to take a retail job at the mall for Christmas sales. Offer to wrap packages for relatives and neighbors. Carry up Christmas decorations and put up trees and lights in your neighborhood. After Christmas you can help take them down. Offer to make cookies for holiday parties.

Depending on your age etc there is always bar work, the post office take on casuals for the Christmas period as the post office is mush busier that time of year! Shops also take on casual workers for the Christmas period and also I believe that the window companies take on casual staff.
Also if you have anything at home that you think is worth selling then you could sell items on ebay to make a bit of money. Really it depends on what you would like to do but there are plenty of casual jobs this time of the year.
Hope this is of some help to you & good luck

Lots of stores and factories hire seasonal workers. If you can't get in through conventional means, try registering at a reputable employment agency.
