I had put in an application for a job and I went to an interview with the head boss and I got the job and I was suppose to come back in wednesday for my schedule and to bring all my documents. I start friday. So the manager (not the head boss) called me today to come in wednesday but she said for an interview. I'm thinking maybe she made a mistake or do I actually need to be interviewed twice. Because when you come in with documents and get uniforms I though it was called an orentation or training. So my question is .. has anyone applied for a job and had to get interviewed twice ?

Should I beat up my ex-boss? He just fired me from my computer programming job. And, I am not young anymore. I am 56 even though I am still strong and youthful. But, I cannot get a new job in my field. This is not like the 1980's when I could just walk in and get hired. Getting a new job is tough these days. And, my skills are more suited for the 1990's. And, even if I take classes, the employers want experience with the latest technology. So, my high salary days are over. I will need to get a security guard job now. I think the only solution is to beat up my ex-boss.

There's this guy at work who smells BAD! He's been there longer than most and has earned the respect of higher ups for his skills...nobody wants to offend the guy or be rude to him, but gosh he makes an entire room smelly!

What's a classy way of handling the situation?

I am relatively elective with ahat i apply for, i only apply for 2-3 jobs a week (so glad i can afford to live without the dole) and i have about a 50% success rate at getting interviews, and that seems to go up since i started including my academic transcript. But so far i've had 8 interviews (at each of which i was only competing with 2-5 other applicats) but still no job!

hypothesies?

I am a fresh graduate applying for jobs in scienceresearch.

I am a member of a small profession (actuary) and feel that I am paid a below market salary for my experience level. There are a few salary surveys out there I have seen and while they vary a bit, it is clear I am paid on the low side of the scale. I would estimate I am at the 25'th percentile.

Like many companies, my employer is very tight with annual salary increases. 2% to 3% is where the aggregate average falls each year.

I believe I am still at a point in my career where my market value is increasing with each additional year of experience (say 5% per year) and with inflation at 3%, I feel that anything less than 8% per year puts me more below market for my profession. I am a strong performer as well.

I like my job a lot; I like my co-workers a lot but I need to earn more money and really don't want to go out and get a different job offer. I am confident I could do this; my company has tried to match offers before but this is not a road I would prefer.

Advice??

I have been in the profession for a while, but with all of the talk about offshore outsourcing, Im wondering if I am immume? I currently work in a hospital with the 1199c (union) and I am wondering what is stopping my boss from coming to me one day and saying "Youre too expensive, I have a better solution." I know that IT professionals are still discovering that they are not safe. What are your thoughts about medical information being sent to Third World Countries?

I had an interview for a job with the state, and it went really well. When the supervisor sent the candidate recommendation to HR, she also sent me an email to let me know that although she sent information on two people, I had been the candidate of choice. However, she just sent an email today letting me know that someone higher than her or even her own supervisor had made a decision to hire someone else. Because she has been so communicative and todays email sounds almost as though she is not happy with the choice the higher-up made, should I send her another thank you? Basically I am thinking just an email to say thanks again for all the time she gave me and also thanks for keeping me informed about the process. Would that be okay in case the other person doesn't work out, or is that too much? Any other helpful suggestions would be appreciated as well.

I want to get this going as soon as possible. Even though that probably means having a parent signing the papers since I'm a minor. However, if you are a lawyer, business person, or anyone with knowledge on how to get started please write an answer. Thank you so much! You are helping me to help many others including children. If you don't have any knowledge in this area but know someone who might please tell or show them this question and ask them to answer it. Thank you for your time. Sincerely,
founder girl

I can't seem to find one with my physical limitations. I broke my back a few years ago and it hurts lots still so I can't do any heavy lifting and also crushed my foot at the same time and it hasn't healed either so I can't stand on my feet all day. I can't seem to find maybe a job on the internet. They all seem like scams. Any ideas? I don't need to make a million $ just something part time to keep me busy and bring in a little cash.

I am looking to leave my current job of six months in Phoenix for another completely different job in LA. I want to move to the East Coast to be near family, but I can't do that with my current company (its only on the West Coast). With my new company, I can transfer to the East Coast after a year or so. I am also applying to jobs on the East Coast, some of which I might get. There's a chance that I will take the new job in LA, then get offered a job I want on the East Coast soon afterwards. What do I do? I have no children, but I hate to uproot my wife like that and send her head spinning. I also don't want to conduct career suicide.

What would a entry level sales and marketing job consist of? How much money could be made? I have 4 job offers in a bigger city about 100 miles from where I live now. Any info would be appreciated. From what I've researched these firms or groups have a lot of pro sports, restaraunt, and hotel clients.
