I teach abroad. No one speaks English here. I've been here 6 months and have 6 more months to go. I wanted to quit 2-4 months into it, but somehow my company convinced me not to. I went back home for 1 month, now I am back. The guy I was kinda seeing wants nothing to do with me so we had a falling out. Other foreigners and I just dont click. I feel so alone and lonely. I cannot go out and joing a club or try to make friends bcuz NO1 speaks English and I live in a small town. I feel so down. I LOVE the people I work with (they dont speak Eng.) and the kids I teach but the job I do-I was not trained well and I have major anxiety. I feel so nervous teaching, I feel sick a lot (literally). Sometimes before work I feel so sick and dread going to work. I've had jobs I dread but it's really hard bcuz I don't have anyone here. I am so lonely and I want to go back. I want to quit..I'm nervous. I don't want ppl to think I am quitting bcuz I just got dumped. How do I quit? Just do it today? help

How do you like working when other people are sleeping and sleeping when other people are working? I do overnight news at a radio station and I enjoy the night shift.

It does involve a few handicaps when it comes to shopping, doing errands, and banking and such, but I do enjoy the night shift and think a lot of people would.

I RARELY get sleepy on the job...

has anyone ever been put on a JSA sanction when you intentionally give a job up? me and me partner and 3 kids have recently moved 60 miles to be near all my family and my partner gave his job up to move here. the Dole office are now saying he gave up a perfectly good job and we may get our JSA heavily reduced! my partner hasnt got any transport and would be getting the train to work and then the bus (to get there for 6am) and this would cost over £100 per week in travel expenses. he also couldnt transfer as where he worked is the only depot in england. i have moved nearer my family as i have had post natal depression and we got the offer of a 3 bedroomed house after living in a tiny flat. are the benefits agency been unfair and could they expect my partner to travel to work everyday?could we get our JSA reduced? my partner is currently looking for work and would take anything within reason

So i have been working at a grocery store for over 3 years and we have a baler. You put cardboard in the machine and after about 2 or 3 days of filling it up it requires to be manual wired up and thrown outside until a truck comes and picks it up. Do grocery store owners get paid for these? they weigh a few hundred pounds

I am in a tough position...I graduated college in May from a top school, top of class and while thinking about going to law school, I started working an entry level job at a top firm. I thought I was doing well until my supervisors sought feedback from my more experienced coworkers about me and she decided to tell my boss every mistake I have made since I started. Now my boss has threatened to fire me if I don't show a month of improvement. However, she will be getting feedback from the same girl who clearly does not like me, and since I am under "review" I can't really defend myself. In addition, I realize that this job really isn't what I want and I would be much happier in the non-profit world doing what I like and not working 70 hour weeks. I am thinking about quitting after only 3 months on the job in order to prevent myself from possibly getting fired, but am worried that I will have a hard time finding a new one since I would have left so early. What should I do?

So, it doesn't seem like I was intentionally hiding the job. I just don;t feel that it relevant to the position that I am applying for.

My boyfriend lives in a different state. He has family problems, and is pretty much living with his friend at the moment. He's fifteen, almost sixteen, and wants to move here (a different state) with me.

Would it be legally possible for him to buy an apartment here, by himself? At only fifteen/sixteen years old? And would it also be possible for him to get a loan at his age? (If his mother could possibly sign for it or something?)

It sounds really young, but he's been through a lot and is way more mature than most eighteen year olds. He's pretty much by himself. His dad's in jail, and his mom doesn't pay any attention to him, and she lives with her boyfriend, and might be going to jail also.

Am I the only person who has felt this way? I feel like I stick out like a sore thumb and every time I go to pass a message along to somebody (I'm the receptionist), they look at me with this annoyed exasperated look on their face - Is it me or are they having a bad day. I honestly can't tell and because the office department where I work is small (8 people including myself) and family run, I'm finding it hard to fit in and one wrong move then I might get fired. I also get a hunch that they may be talking about me on their private home time because one day they are nice to me and the next are totally snappy and stuck up to me. The husband and wife work there together (my boss') and the wife's cousin and his fiance work there together. So tell me, what would you do in my situation, how would you feel and how can i make myself fit in more? I am after all the outsider.
Please help - desperate to keep my job!!!

I am a JD candidate, and to be honest, after investing 2 years of my life in law school, I am not quite sure if law is the field I want to practice in. Are there any other former law students out there that did not end up practicing law?
(and, I don't want to just quit school, since I am almost done. I would rather just complete my degree first).

I am kind of interested in 2 different fields:

(1) compliance - can anyone give me more information in this field? and
(2) fashion law - this would probably be the only area of law that I would be interested in pursuing. There does not seem to be much information out there on the web in this field. Any ideas?

Any helpful tips and ideas would be appreciated. 10 points to the best answer!

I graduated this last June and I took a year off to work so me and my bff could go to college together after she graduates next June. Well it turns out I can get a good job at Covidien as a tableter starting out with 12.50 an hour working 4 on 4 off days. There is a raise every couple months and I can work plenty of overtime and get lots of vacation time. But I planned on going to college so I could one day be a tv producer. See all the other kids in my class are going to college. Some are going to be teachers, doctors, one girl is even going to be a stylist. I want to do something cool like that too. But what I really want is to make money. Do I really need to go to college to make good money or am I better off going with this job. Im only 18 so that's pretty good money for a kid my age and it will only get better with time. But this doesn't seem as exciting and glamorous as being a stylist. Should I still go to college or should I just go aheadw/ the job.I want a job I can brag about

Uniform retail jobs at places such as GameStop, Circuit City, Staples, Best Buy, Wal*Mart, McDonald's, and GAP.

I'm talking about walking in there for the very first time and telling the manager that you want to apply for a job. Would it be overboard if someone dressed formal just to do this? Would it be a good thing? Or does it even matter?

On the flip-side, what if I came in with T-Shirt and jeans?

Please tell me what you think, and if you work at these places or not.

So, I work for the state government and a few weeks ago they changed everyone's job titles. Our new titles are paraprofessional rather than professional. I went from a librarian to a library specialist. The pay didn't change, but they did tweak the job description and removed helping students use online and print resources, which is a major part of my job and it seems silly to remove it, but that's a non issue. I'm upset because of the job title switch. One of the reasons I took this job despite the laughable pay was so I could put librarian on my resume despite not completeing my degree. Should/ Can I use the job title I was hired with on future resumes? I just can't see myself chaning my resume to say library specialist.

There average wage is above 90K, how hard is it to fill a bottle with pills. It is not like the old days where they are crushing different compounds together to make medicine. I know it is important not to mix up pills and know side effects but isn't the latter the doctor's responsibility. Also, you used to be able to have a Bachelors in Pharmacy now it takes a Doctorate, it this just so there will be a shortage and raise salaries? I think Medco, which was part of Merck-Medco had an almost fully automated prescription dispenser with less errors than human pharmacists.

Ok I am getting really nervous now! especialy since no one anwered my last question.... thinking maybe no one saw it...

So, the interview I had Friday went really well, they called me back an hour after I had left and said they were going to come up with a compensation package for me and would get back to me either Friday or today.

So there is 2.5 hours left in the work day..... They have not called?? Should I be patient? Or should I call them? and if so what should I say?
