I have a fantastic resume and is currently employed but need to make extra cash on the side without leaving home. I have tried so many sites but they either want me to pay for a book with no jobs or want me to start a business. I just want to make extra cash from home using my computer skills.

I've been in a customer service job for 5 years now and i'm starting to really hate it and bored of it. Also customer service is the only experience i have got, job wise.

I'm looking for a change. I want to work in the public sector or with people but i do not want a customer service role. Can anyone please list the jobs roles that would suit these requirements.

PS - I've applied to many jobs during the summer but have just gotten rejection letters.

I really want to go to law school but I would be 38 when I finished. Is that too old to even consider going to law school? Wouldn't it be harder to compete against the 26-27 year olds in the job market?

What do you do when you have a coworker who abuses break time and is constantly on her cell phone. I don't want to be a snitch, but it's truly not fair that I pick up her slack. Should I count on Karma for this one, or say something to the boss?

I'm 19, graduated high school '07 just started working at macys to pay for college but the pay really isn't enough ($7h). I wanted to get a Job working somewhere close to home, get experience w/ animals, and pay for college. Parents really can't help me money wise and I would feel guilty asking even if they had the money to send me. I can't find anything in ads or online. Question is where should I be looking; am I looking in the wrong places? Most clinics or animal hospitals are full and don't really need any help. Are there any other places that I can get real hands on experience w/ animals other than where I am looking. I'm getting sick of working retail it is just not me. I wouldn't mind making minimum wage if I was doing something I loved and making a real difference. Even if I put forth effort no one really cares.

THIS IS JUST DRIVING ME NUTS!!!!
I want a real job, my dream job I really don't mind hard work. Something like kennel work is what i want to do.

Or is there another reason? Because I lost my SS Card and start a new job later today. I have valid US Passport however, which is acceptable for the I-9. I just wanted to make sure that I won't be in a world of hurt if there's another reason that my employer will insist on seeing an SS card.

My boyfriend and I live together and are very happy....he went to a great high school and took college courses. He worked at a dealership for 6 years while he was in school and that is how we met. He started out as a porter very young and then deatailed cars. He really want to be a service writer at a dealer and poeple keep wanting experience. He has about $8,000 from a family member for school purposes but doesnt know what to take or do. He got bored with the classes he already took which had to do with science. I told him to also look into vocational things because he could always have something to back him up while he figures things out. We want to get married in a year and hes frustrated because he wants a good job or schooling for a job...we just want ideas from you on any vocationals to recomend or schooling.....and any job ideas that you can move up from....Thank you for helping....

I am a very successful executive. I left college 25 years ago to take a job and have done extremely well, making it to the "C"/VP level. Since I didn't finish my degree, it comes up when I apply now. Is there any way to tactfully addresss it? I really can't go back and finish at this point.

I can't deny it any longer, life is GREAT without the pressure of chasing a career.
I urge everybody to give it a go. Yes, there's less money but the freedom you get makes it an excellent trade off.

I have been working at the same co. for about a year now, my job is to learn all the depts. so if someone calls in sick or vacation I can replace them temporarly. I am now in a new dept. ( again ) and found out that a co worker is spredding rumors about, like wrecking machines, making bad parts so on and forth. I had talked to him about it, and yet he dinies it. I know for a fact that he is doing it because of others telling me this info. I would feel like a "rat" if I went to the boss about this. Any other ideas ?????? I dont want to "get even" with him and jepordise my job.

I graduated with a Degree in Communications and minor in Chinese (mandarin). I currently work in PR where I don't get to use chinese at all and I am losing my ability fast.
What can I do?? I probably should have chosen a business major or something like that but it's too late now.
Everybody talks about such a need for chinese but what about intermediate level? Are there jobs that can help me develop my chinese so that I can be useful. Jobs in China? US? I would really like a job where I could use chinese. I've worked so hard and it seems like such a waste to just let all my learning go.

Hi all -
I am applying for a management trainee position. I submitted my cover letter and resume last week and will be calling the employer soon to follow-up and ask for an interview. I ended my cover letter saying, "I will follow up with you next week to discuss the possibility of arranging a personal interview at your convenience."

What exactly do I say when calling so that I don't sound too wordy or desperate?

Hi everyone! I seem to be a job hopper - in the last 7 years I did not held any job longer that 2 years, some of them lasted just several months. I guess, I have been too demanding of the job environment - I simply cannot stand the office politics + B/S - when you do not see the purpose in your job, and, at the same time do not want to earn money for nothing. I know it may seem foolish, but that's how I am! Since I am looking for the job right now, I need a good advise on how to intelligently cover those "gaps". Please do not advise to tell the truth and only truth - it never seems to work! Tried it many tomes with the same effect - 0! Would be grateful for good comments. All the best, P.

I just graduated from college in May of this year, I have a job that pays okay, and a neat title(Business Consultant) with a fortune 200 company.
Everything seems great from that, but I have literally nothing to do at work since I've started about 3 months ago, most days I can just work from home, where since I have nothing to do, I just watch tv and checking emails and staying on the company's intranet so that my boss knows that I am reachable. My manager tells me that this is only temporary since there isn't a whole lot of projects, but I really hate doing this, I feel like I don't have a purpose anymore, and I am living in a city which I don't particularly like. I am starting to feel like I should look for another job close to home.(NYC)

Is this a typical experience for a first time job, or should I start looking for a different job?
