I am a very successful executive. I left college 25 years ago to take a job and have done extremely well, making it to the "C"/VP level. Since I didn't finish my degree, it comes up when I apply now. Is there any way to tactfully addresss it? I really can't go back and finish at this point.

employers don't just look at the educational background of the applicant, they also heavily consider "significant work experience". put more stress on your work experiece and try lead the discussion towards your accomplishments as a self-made person. when you start talking about education, tell them that you had to sacrifice education to survive.

Just don't even put in an "education" section on your resume. Since you have a lot of experience, at most companies nobody will probably care much whether or not you have a degree. Some companies have a policy requiring degrees for certain positions - if you interview one of them, and they bring it up, you can address it then and maybe they'll bend. If not, well, look at it as it's their loss, and go on with life.

Real life experience is a great asset for the right company and there are colleges that will consider your experience and with a small amount of work issue you a degree based on your experience. Do a google search, I know there was one in NY.
