I'd start with looking seriously at the attitude you project - because no matter what type of job you want, no one wants to hire someone who is negative. The fact that you describe yourself as a "useless....bit#h" is a big indicator that YOU might be part of the problem. How can you be useless if you're "doing everyone else's work for them"?

Then, you need to review your job description - make sure you know what is expected of you, and do it WELL - whether you like it, or feel it is "beneath" you. Martin Luther King said, "If a man is called to be a streetsweeper, he should sweep streets even as Michelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music, or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, here lived a great streetsweeper who did his job well." The executive assistant in my office get paid very well, and part of their jobs (though not the most glamorous or exciting part) is to make copies. My bosses routinely say, "I'm going to have you do this..." because that's what my job description says - I assist them, and everyone else in the office.

So you don't want to work in an office - what are you doing to get out of there? Do you have the educational background to be a park ranger? Believe it or not, there's a lot of school that goes into it. If you don't have the education, find a way to GET IT - but don't sacrifice the quality of your work at your current job. Because when you do apply somewhere else, and they call your current employer for references, do you want them to say "that person was great, took on the jobs that had to be done & did them well," or do you want them to say, "that person did what they had to do to scrape by, but never came off as an exceptional employee."

Another bonus to performing well - and with a good attitude - is that it makes it more likely that people will ask you to help them with interesting jobs. It's also more likely that they'll see fit to provide you with opportunities to expand your knowledge & skill set, which can help you find a position you like better.

If you're completely unhappy, explain this to your boss, and it's probably time to look for a different position, either within your company, or externally.

dUE YOU HAVE an Agent? if you due If the book is good,
you should have no problem getting An advance on sales from the publisher. 98% of the time this is only done for established Authors. Trust me keep your Day job until you
have the cash in the hand . I know how you feel I am on call have been for the last month,I have been out cleaning up after other service techs that make more than I due and they get all the hours and I get SQUAT. I usualy have side jobs but this year has been in the toilet.A very poor economy.
Here is southern California. When A air conditioning installer
that is certified to due the charging or the system and start ups is not working 12 to 14 hrs A day espically here at the end of the season that is saying it is slow.
I know the place Drives you nuts but make sure that you have the publisher backing befor you quit. Also the forrest service job the easyest way to get6 in is to be honrably discharged from the military that is the big plus plus on your civial service exams

I do the same things that you do and I love it. I don't take it for granted not one bit. I also work two jobs and work my @$$ off at home taking care of my house. I guess what I'm trying to say if that if you are so unhappy with your life, Do something about it instead of whining. Is anyone forcing you to stay at the job that you hate so much? Go and be the park ranger out in the sun all day! Look in your area for jobs that are outside, I'm sure that there are some!

What I learned in life is that if you're unhappy with how your life is going, take steps to change it. If you don't like doing the job you're doing, get the right education to switch to a career you'd love or if you have the education already, follow your dreams. So there's a waiting list, get on it. In the meantime, I'm sure you can find a job more suitable to your likes so that you're not miserable all day. But a job isn't going to fall into your lap, get out there and look. If you really want a change, you'll look for it with full gusto.

Quit the gas station job and find a receptionist job with a laid back place. A lot of receptionist jobs will allow you to read a book or surf the net while sitting at your desk day after day. This way, you can research, read e-books on your computer, and write all day long..while looking busy and getting paid. i'm looking for a job, so treasure employment while you have it. Don't think of how much you hate your job, think of how your job is paying your bills and formulate a plan to get where you need to go. Kudos on writing a book and good luck.

It's hard because I don't know in the position that you are in! If you have kids and no husbands than is hard! If you don't like it jus save enought money and keep one job! Then quiet one and start on a different career! Maybe the same but someone else! Is a very big deal, on how you feel if the person that you work with don't get along because they are stupid!

Quit your job and find another one. Think of what you like to do until you can work up to what you really want to do for a career. There is no use being miserable in your job when you can be happier somewhere else. Good Luck!

You could use your bad job to turn everything around and have fun at work. Like Pam on "The Office".

If you already hate your job, you might as well just try to have fun.
