I am a soon-to-be graduate in geological engineering looking for a job for Slumberger. What questions should I ask the Slumberger recruiter that would make an impression (i.e. make it look like I've done my research and am really interested in the job).

If anyone has worked for Slumberger how did you get your job?

If you were a past criminal for a petty crime such as theft , forgery , blah blah blah , you were convicted , but you were only fined and not imposed any jail sentence , when you go for employment , is it truly absolutely necessary that you have to declare you had a criminal record ? If you do not mention about it , the employer will very likely not know about it right ? As it is not indicated in your IDs or certificates that you have one . I also feel that in order to secure a job for your survival and put the past behind you .. many people with criminal records will choose not to reveal them and wait for time to pass until the criminal record is considered spent . The employer will not find out if you have one unless he delibrately calls up some criminal record department in the police to check right ? Is this really the case with previously convicted people now ?

I have made mistakes which I cannot take back. Nothing horrible just bad judgement. Should I do a 180 and change until they fire me or get out now? By the way this is not related to anything against the law.

I hate calling in sick, but when I'm feeling bad enough to call in (rarely), I think they don't really believe me completely (I think they have doubts): but maybe they have doubts because they know THEY aren't always "sick" when they call in sick. What do you think?

I had an issue this eveing that needed to be resolved very quickly. I called my direct supervisor, and no answer, no answer on cell.

Then I called his supervisor to help me out as I didn't know what to do. The problem was resolved, but I am wondering if my sup might be mad at me for going above her head cause I couldn't reach her? What do you think?

I have on my resume the years that I attended High School and that I had liberal arts studies, and the awards that I won. I don't specify that i have a GED nor do i state that i graduated (so technically I am not lying, I'm just not advertising on my resume that I left school early). I have since had more educational training and I have that on there too, but I was told today that I should put right on the resume that I have a GED. Any job interview I went to I told the hiring manager in person that I got it, and explained that my senior year I was focusing on my acting career, and I have never run into a problem with not having in on there before....

I'm a software developer, been at it for 20 years.
I'm good and the pay is good. I'M JUST SICK OF IT!
I'm not a sit on my butt in a cube kinda guy even though I've tolerated it for 20 years.... but now... I'm at my BREAKING POINT!

I like working with my hands - woodworking, fixing things and such. Like the outdoors too. Not good with heights. Great with kids. Hate sales.

Any suggestions for a decent paying that will fit the criterea?
