Depends on the locale your in and the listings (sale prices) of the houses....usually a 6% fee is charged after the sale of a house...however can be as much as 15% on multiple listings....remember its a time driven, trust endowed, type job that can be frustrating at times........

Real estate agents do not receive a salary. They are paid commission on their sales. Good sales people make lots of money. The potential is unlimited. Those who are unable to sell, make nothing.

The salary/remuneration for a particular job is the market value for a particular profession and designation at the city/town where the office is located. Job postings at websites like Monster, Yahoo HotJobs and Careerbuilder carry information about salaries. The Govt Dept of Labor, (www.bls.gov) Bureau of statistics has information about median salaries for different professions and details of additional compensation offered. Other online resources are salary.com and payscale. Your salary will also depend on your educational qualification and how you handle your career. Real estate sales is a commission job. You determine your income by pulling in listings and selling homes. If you're REALLY good, 7 figures is possible even in a dump of a small town. If you're lazy, you won't even make minimum wage.
