Finish out college, ditch game design (the market is flooded). Drafting is an amazing and a well paying field (I'm a Drafter). You boss is an executive athority, and your just a kid, of course he gets much better pay than you. Talk to a campus carrer consulor (if you have one) and see what they can do to help you. Put resumes on Monster and Craig's List, and test the waters. A degree is not required to have a high-paying job, it just helps and shows that you are comitted to your field, that you have some experience, and that you know your stuff (if you apply within your degree). It looks better on a resume if you have been to college versus not. Remeber, you start at the bottom, and work up, so does your salary.

i dont have a high paying job. but i do have a degree and i know ppl with degrees. from what i have noticed since i have been in the real world is this; people with the big checks are 1. ppl with degrees that are lucky 2. people that have a strong will to make a product or idea that want to see make it big. 3 ppl that go get trades in something and do big things for themselves that way. if u notice there is only one of these that involves a degree so ppl with degrees that make big finiancially are very lucky to be in the right place at the right time. i would take my chances at going for the hard work

Some people have made money without degrees but what would happen to them when and if they lose that job and have to compete for another job. Without a degree your job options are very limited and you are shortchanging yourself by not learning everything you can. With a degree and hard work a person will have a stable financial future without you get to flip burgers for a living. Not to pick on you but I am surprised that as a computer drafting student you didn't spell check your question. To make money you will want to always send any correspondence spelled correctly.

Some people just get lucky
Some are just in the right place at the right time
Some grow with a company and earn their creds through their actions and people skills
Want to get noticed? Be innovative and think OUTSIDE the box.

Do what makes you happy and work hard at it. Money is not the source of happiness. Seek out what will complete your life, not your bank account.
