For my last job interview ( which is my current job) they did not call my references because no one told me they did ( one of my references) and they asked me during my last interview what would my previous job say if they called. My job before that they did not call. I am thinking since I work with kids you would think they would call and check to make sure I was not crazy but they did not. Do jobs just not call anymore? Is that outdated?

I'm this hopelessly "nice" oriented guy. I'm totally incapable of barking at anyone or forcing anyone to do anything, which I guess would make me pretty useless as a bouncer or law enforcement officer or something. I need to be able to ooze niceness all day long, among people who do the same in return.

What job would you expect someone like that to shine in? I'd really like to know.

I have never had a real job before, so if I made a resume' it would have nothing on it. When applying for a first job (it would be something simple like at a Target/Walmart/KMart store or an Old Navy/Ross/TJMaxx type store), would I need to give them a resume? And even if I don't give them a resume, do I need to send a cover letter? Or will the application itself be enough?

I have a 2nd interview scheduled this week, however, I am having a very hard time finding a new suit. The suit I have is nice, but a little fitted. Is it ok to wear a twin set (cardigan sweater w/shell) and dress pants or should I stick with finding a suit? The interview is for a 3rd shift production supervisor position with a large medical devices company. The interview will be from 8-3 pm as well.
