Complete waste of corporate money and time. Also leads to weeding out of people that could have been your best hires ever.
Hewlett-Packard very quietly quit requiring across the board hiring drug tests. They did a study and found that the number of problem employees and/or addicted employees was no different 15 years after they started drug testing as before.
Drug tests are bs!

Employe evaluation should be based on performance of the essential elements of the position. It should not be based on your blood chemistry. Drug tests are popular because personnel departments and front line managers are not competent to evaluate employes and potential employes on criteria that are relevant to the actual work of the corporation.
Or to put it another way: Dilbert's pointy-haired boss is typical of the type of manager who would value drug testing.

Personally I think its great. Helps keep people who don't really want to work from the job. It also keeps every ones workman comp insurance. Why should I pay into Workman's comp for a roofer who is high and falls off the roof. It would be different if he was straight, Then it more likely is a real accident. Same thing with companies who employer truckers. In my area an entire familty was wiped out by a construction truck driver who had lost her license relating to to many drunk/drug driving offenses.

I think all drugs should be tested before they are sold.

I hated it when they asked me to pee in a bottle that was a good 15 feet away from me.
I mean, I'm good but I ain't that good.
