I'm about to start a job as a biomedical technician at a hospital, I don't if i will like it but the only reason I got into it is because of my electronics degree. I know I want to do something else eventually since the hospital will pay for me to go to school, but I don't know what. I was thinking about being a X-Ray Tech, cause I know I don't want to fix those machines forever. Does anyone know if X-Ray techs get payed more or less than BMET's, or if the work is less stressful than a BMET, or basically would the move be a step up or a step down?

I am thinking of changing careers from IT to being a professional baker/chef. Worked in the corporate world for 6.5 yrs. Interviewed with an owner of an upscale restaurant in Baltimore, MD. She offered me an apprenticeship at her restaurant. It's basically to get exposure and experience as to what it's like to work in a kitchen as an assistant to the baker/chef. I said I would be happy to work for free but she insists on paying me. I am not sure what price per hour to ask for. She told me to think about it and get back to her. I am thinking above minimum wage. I don't even know what the minimum wage is. What should I ask for? I don't want to be underpaid or ask for too much.

cousins, step-parents? mine doesn't. i asked about it and they claim that they do local business surveys and adjust their benefits accordingly to be competitive. the last place i worked paid at least ONE day for extended family members. ours pay up to 3 days for mother/father, spouse (including fiancees i believe), child, bro/sis, in-law parents, and one day for grandparents. NO OTHER family member is covered.

i'm taking a survey to see what the 'norm' is out there. the 10 points will be given to whomever has the most info they can share... especially (but not exclusively) if they're in the business/HR field.

thanks!

I was thinking of applying to a furniture store as a salesman. I have never been a salesman before. The question on the ap asked if you have ever worked for 100 percent commissions before. Do you still get base pay if you work on 100percent commissions? Is it a good thing or a bad thing? Any insight would be helpful. Thanks in advance

I dont want any stupid answers like, "babysit" or, "mow the lawn." I've done that and I want a consistent job preferably at a restaraunt or store. Where is a place I can be hired? I will be fifteen in October, I'm super responsible, and this would be my first real big time job.

I want a job that pays more. Who doesn’t right? My education and work experience have increased by my salary has not. Why is this?

I have BA in English/Education and MA in English/Writing. I have 4 years of work experience in educational administration ranging from administrative assistant to program coordinator at various institutions. I took a year and a half off to go back to school. Now with a Master’s degree, I am still making the same salary I made when I had a BA degree. Is it the education industry? Can I apply my knowledge and skills in a different industry that would put me in a higher salary bracket? Also, I do not want to teach. I would appreciate any advice you can give. Thank you.
