Does anyone have any advice or tips on how they got into mystery shopping. I'm looking to do it in addition to my part time job.

Do an online search. I was interested and signed up with one of the mystery shopping firms. You fill out some paperwork and you are "in their system". No money required up front.

The only issue I had is that it is a lot of work. You pick your "jobs" from their website (lists everything available). Some of the jobs looked like they might take an hour or more - and you have to ask all the right questions (by memory) else you don't get reimbursed. There was one job I almost went on...it was at a national brand pet store and I had to engage at least 4 workers in the store (i.e. walk around and see how long it takes someone to greet you).....talk to manager, talk to cashier, talk to groomer, etc. And I think the payment for all that was like $10. Not worth the time. Plus you have to type it all up.

Hey, knock yourself out. Maybe once you start you become super-efficient and it is worth your time.

Mystery shopping? What's that? I work Loss Prevention for Sears, so I work "undercover," meaning I just wear my normal clothes, no uniform or anything, to stop shoplifters...I'm assuming that's what Mystery Shoppers do. Just go and apply at the store, that's the best way to get a job doing that.

However, if my assumption as to the meaning of "Mystery Shopper" is incorrect, than my answer really isn't any help.

I tried it and either the work wasn't consistant or some places tried to charge me a big up front fee. But if you are looking to make money at home, I found something that I thinks better.

I have found several legitimate work at home sites so far, and I made $500+ in October, over $700 in November, $900+ in December, and $700+ in January. They are free to join.

And by the way--never join a work at home program that wants you to pay up front. If they were making that much money, they wouldn't need to charge you.
