My employer has seen the light and has raised the level on hiring. Starting today, applicants must be dressed appropriately, pass a reading test with no less than 2 errors and be able to enunciate. The benefits? Increase in production, less behavioral problems, and improvement in quality of life in the office

I would say no, but this article says yes. I figure that if they're interested, then they'll schedule one. I want to be assertive, but not pushy. This is for a job that I applied for about a year ago, but the girl who got the job got a better job somewhere else, and now they're hiring again. Should I say that I'll contact them to schedule an interview, or say that they should contact me?

We have a small office. The receptionist has gone home sick - so I have been unable to take a lunch break. I am the only person in the office that has a clue about my specialty. Everyone else has left the his employ for one reason or another. Today, my boss has been handling the phones, but when several lines come in at the same time, I normally grab one to help out. When he talks to people, he either fails to pass the information along to me or tells them I am on another line when I am not. He just went off on me for answering the phone - and my first instinct is to say **** and start looking for a new job.

I am doing research for my own pitiful job search. So far, I have gotten no interviews. I feel that my resume is very good, and I always spend an absurd amount of time on my cover letters. If they interview a lot of people, then I am doing something wrong. If not, then I just have to be patient. So does anyone know, what is the range of applicants who are interviewed for a professional entry-level position? Thanks!

I just want to know what steps I should take to at least get the ball rolling. I am not expecting to change the company single handedly but I think its a very important benefit and that companies should offer it to employees. Any advice would be very much appreciated!

I have been doing many tasks with the vets and nurses but it seems that much of the vet nursing job is routine and cleaning and not actually caring for the animals as I was hoping to do. Is this a normal example? Should I give up on this career as its more about organising things than caring or have I got the wrong impression and it is satisfying and worthwhile? I am making a career switch from IT here and I want it to be right and meaningful to me. Thanks.

Would it be right to get cancel from a company?
I am working at this company where just bc one day i missed they said to me i'd getting cancel. why? i don't know. i have almost 1 year working and i really wanted to stop {before of "getting cancel" which still i haven't] bc i just dont like the way they rule around. Like for example, when a person resign itself ... the president goes around whatever that person debts {cafeteria, insurance, etc} and he plays around at the point that he alters the real quantity that person made. I think this is just illegal. As im not getting pay for comission (my company is a telemarketing call center) i guess that i MUST have to get pay right way my money. What do you think? I think its not worth it to keep working with such ppl like this... plus when things like this happens, as long as i am the receptionist, i am who have to swallow all employeer's complain.

what's the best i should?

p.s> i stopped "unfortunatetly" my school bc of work.
