I just want to know what steps I should take to at least get the ball rolling. I am not expecting to change the company single handedly but I think its a very important benefit and that companies should offer it to employees. Any advice would be very much appreciated!

I've never seen this offered as 'group' insurance the way medical insurance is for people. WHen insurance is grouped together it is usually cheaper. Every time I've checked into buying it, I've found that your just swapping dollars with the ins co unless it is catastrophic. Perhaps you should call around and see if the pet ins co would offer this on a group basis.

it is offered out there i was offered a job recently and one of the benefits was pet insurance for my dog.funny i couldn't get my gf of 8 years on my policy but i could get my pet.but my pet is already insured through a vet anyways but everybody i told about the job that it was funny for pet insurance to be offered.

Wow - of all the crazy things that I have read - pet insurance?
I would suggest higher wages, better retirement, tuition assistance - but pet insurance??????????
