Realize that this is a job that remains on you well after you leave. Unless you are looking to do this as a career change, I would highly recommend you reconsider.

That being said, 90% of the business is set up by the owner of the establishment you work for. As long as you have a good report with him/her-- the safety/'not being a prostitute' aspect are not a concern. As for making money in this line of work- it's pretty simple: be happy, affectionate (hug, kiss on the cheek), and keep yourself in amazing shape, always. Also, getting the weekend night shifts make the most money (as is probably assumed going in).

All this being said, I have friends who have done this and getting a job after they live the industry becomes VERY difficult- be it through being recognized or the fact that working day jobs become more difficult considering the work schedule.

You are about to enter a world of trickery and those who would give you advice probably are trying to get a free lay
stay out of the VIP rooms and have a very close friend nearby to hold your money and get you home safely

having a great body works, so getting to the gym might work

Don't worry about "ediquitte," you already seem like the perfect candidate for the job.
