What I mean is someone who needs to belittle you to make sure that you know where your pecking order is in the food chain.

I don't want answers like "a job that makes you look good" or anything like that. I would appreciate specific jobs/careers and what makes them glamorous. Facts and details please. Nothing smart or cute. I'm doing a report on careers for school so I would appreciate real answers! Thank you!

I'm just about 25 years old and contemplating a career change....already. I graduated at 21 and started teaching special education, a job that i'm burned out on. Actually I was burned out 2 years ago. My parents already shelled out thousands of dollars for my education...including a master's degree that I am probably not going to use. It feels like such a waste. I want to go back to school but should i try to get my parents to pay for it or am i on my own. I make enough to save up but I dont want to do what i do anymore.

My husband's work is giving him a hard time with our FMLA certification. Our doctor has filled it out correctly, but they are seeking questions that are not even listed on the form and they don't like my physicians answers. He clearly stated my incapacity was ongoing and chronic and that my husband would need intermittent leave to care for me, yet they want to know the duration and frequency of my incapacity. Can they send me for a second opinion if I am not the employee?

I just had a meeting with my boss and district manager where I brought up the fact my previous manager told me I wouldn't get a raise for 2006 'cause my bonuses were my raise. I was a dummy and didn't think twice about it at the time. Now that I've talked to friends and family - this wasn't right. They asked me what I thought I should be making and I said "I want to be paid what's fair" I didn't want to throw out a number. I also mentioned firmly what I've accomplished and my value to the company. I don't have a lot of experience with this...was that the right thing to do? She's going to get back to me.

i have a disabled son and do not appreciate all of the rude comments generated by a previous question. I respect someone telling me do not call again. I do not respect rude people. This is the easiest and best way to make money for me. I realize some marketers do not but that does not mean we are all bad people. If you met me on the street you would never know my job and would be polite but doing my job SOME people are very rude. I am just doing my job because I am very good at it. I make 3-4x minimum wage. If anyone wants to offer me a job making more at a "more respectable" job I will take it.

To my surprise, according to a survey that I've done with my friends and co-workers, 99% of them have never had to deal with nasty job interviewers. I was shocked considering that I've dealt with a couple of them in my past. If you've experienced nasty job interviews, how did you deal with them? And if you've never experienced one, what would you do if you did?

I really need to get a CNA job because I plan on applying for nursing school soon, but I'm a full time student with an 18 credit load and am only able to work on Fridays and weekends, and 20 hours a week at the very most. I have 9 months experience working in an assisted living home as well as my CNA certification, problem is I can't seem to find many places who are hiring for such few hours. I'm starting to feel so frustrated, I don't know what to do or where to look anymore. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

HELP!!! I just had my second and last interview at a local fast-food restaurant. The interview went off without a hitch and the manager told me that she would hire me on the spot, if she knew that my parents concented to me working till the end of my shift at 10:00 pm. She told me to talk it over with them and then call her. Well my dad said yes, and so I called and told her, and then she asked if I had the ORIGINALS of my birth certificate and social security card. I told her I would check on it and call her back as soon as I knew. I DON'T!!! I only have copies!! Pathetic, huh? I'm so upset! Is it really nescessary to have them original? Oh, no. Please help. :'(

I wake up at least two to three times in the night and try to stay in bed until the last possible minute before I have to leave in the morning. My boss takes credit for everything that I do, and blames me for what is wrong; even if he told me to do it. My co-workers can do what they want how they want to, and I have to clean up the mess they leave behind. I am in accounting and constantly told that cleaning up everyone mess is what an accountant does. I have done this long enought to know that we don't do this kind of crap! I have been looking for a while, my time with this joke of an employer is 1.5 years. I am not a job hopper, but I am constently asked why I am leaving so soon. I have gained 20+ pounds since I have been here and pretty much stay in my office. The less contact that I have the better! I need to get out of here before I lose it. Please help; I am at my end, but I need to work. I am going to school so I can get out of this job, but it's still a year + away!!!
