I really need to get a CNA job because I plan on applying for nursing school soon, but I'm a full time student with an 18 credit load and am only able to work on Fridays and weekends, and 20 hours a week at the very most. I have 9 months experience working in an assisted living home as well as my CNA certification, problem is I can't seem to find many places who are hiring for such few hours. I'm starting to feel so frustrated, I don't know what to do or where to look anymore. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Most hospitals will work with you if you are a nursing student. I was a CNA for 15 years and never had trouble finding a job. Check with larger hospitals and nursing homes and explain your situation. Some will ask you to sign a contract to work for them as a nurse when you graduate.

It depends on where you live. I was in the same situation and found work on weekends in nursing homes. I also went to a medical temp agency (actually was registered with 2 or 3), and they put me to work as a "sitter" for patients in hospitals.
You could also run your own ad in your local newspaper for weekend work and the hours you want to work. (private duty).

One do u have to work, if not, then don't. If so see if u can get 16hr shifts on the weekends. Good luck.
