No. Others will have less of an opinion of you. My husband and I make a pretty penny together, yet we live simply. We buy what we want when we want and we don't have money concerns. We are very lucky.
His first cousin married a guy who makes about the same as we do combined. A very lucky guy. Yet all she can do is flaunt how much money they have (and waste). She has gobs of designer purses, completely remodeled their house (and now want to move after 3-4 years), designer clothes on the 1-year old, etc.
We laugh about her and her family (in a family-loving sort of way) and feel pretty darn sorry for her.

Only if you want to experience a home invasion. Do like I do, live WAY below your means & invest the rest. Then you'll be filthy stinking rich & nobody will know it b/c you'll still be living in your little "starter" home , sleeping on a mattress stuffed w/Benjamins!
