I want to go into cardiothorastics (heart surgeon) when I head to college, but I'm aware of how much it really costs to go to medical school. I've been denied some scholarships because apparantly my parents make too much money (I never see it though). I need help. I'm smart enough and I'm very sharp under pressure. How can i pay for medical school?

It seems like every job in the world requires this. Are they just trying to scare off competition or is there a secret box where you can get this experience?

I have a degree in Economics and Admin, but I really don't care for all these job postings looking for "self starters" or "highly motivated" people. Not that I don't work hard, but I don't want to love my job, I just want something to make money. Especially since most of my oppurtunities involve numbers and stuff, I can't honestly say I'm motivated towards that.

I have an interview soon and all the other - unsuccessful - interviews I've had in the past all contained roughly the same question. The question is, 'If you had a problem within the company - say, staff shortages / wage reduction / being upgraded to an unfamiliar computer system / uncooperative colleagues - who would you speak to about it?'
Usually I list off the colleagues / supervisors / managers I would speak to, but the interviewer usually responds by pretending all of these people cannot help me, so then I talk about how I would tackle the problem by myself, but then the interviewer responds by pretending I am unable to tackle the problem by myself and invites me to suggest further solutions. By this point I am fresh out of ideas.
How would you respond to this question?
All answers appreciated. Thanks.

I just got offered a job with a significant pay increase (it pays $20/hr vs $12/hr that i am making now)
the problem is that they want me to start wednesday (as in the day after tommorrow)
so do i leave the job i have now in not so great standing or do i give up the opportunity for this major pay increase?
a couple factors:
I have 3 children that could use the extra money
the hours for the new job are better, but it is a longer drive(45-50min vs 35-40 mon)
the new job is a temp job but they are looking for someone permanent

I am a very smart, easy going, wise person who wants to become well know in the world. I crave to be a leader in the corporate world. I have always dreamed of starting my own business by my own or with someone else. I am very ambitious and very keen of business ways. I see myself becoming sucessful when I become a leader, not a follower, and want to be financially sucessful. I look up to people like Bloomberg and Donald Trump (Just a little). My father, however, is not very fond of this. He would rather see my becoming a doctor or lawyer because they are definite ways of becoming rich. But law is boring and dull and medicine is disgusting (I don't mind the sight of blood, but I don't like opening someone up to remove a tumor). I know that starting a business is hard work and very demanding, but I am willing to sacrifice it all to fulfill my dreams. Any suuggestions or stories???

Does anyone know if there is any kind of legislation within UK law, concerning time taken off work by a woman who needs to attend a hospital appointment for a mommogram.
One of my friends had to go for one and now is being asked to make the time up at work, or her pay will be docked.
Could anyone shed some light on this for me please and if possible provide me with link for written proof so that I can print it off for her employers.
Thanks.

I was working at a REAL dead-end place. So I met a lady at a function outside of my previous job and she told me she worked for a Temp Agency. Okay I explained my situation to her (i.e. deadend job, lousy pay etc.) and she seemed to get to work right away in search of a new job for me or at least something until I could find something more perminate. Okay here is my problem......... The job she "found" me is a temp position (duration unknown) it is very very very (about 70 miles to and from) far from where I live and the gas gets costly should I feel bad that I am looking for another job even though I comitted to this project? Or should I not even care and look out for myself? I am just uncomfortable with this because what if i do venture out and find a job on my "own" I dont want to burn the bridge at the Agency. Any ideas on how I can make this situation better or at least once I do get a preminate job let them know without damaging our working relationship? Please advise

Do you think that employers who refuse to employ disabled people because they are disabled should be punished?

Do you think it is disgusting that they use stupid excuses such as 'we didn't get your application form' even though it was sent registered post. Do you think they should stop using stupid questions at the interview, such as 'why should we employ someone of your kind?'.

If you agree with this, would you consider signing my petition pointed to by the link below.

Thanks

I am re-writing my resume, and hate the word "stockgirl." I worked in a clothing store a few years back, and helped to receive all the clothing orders, tag all the clothing, put them out, etc. But it is not the same thing as a receiver in a warehouse. Are there any better names?
