I want to go into cardiothorastics (heart surgeon) when I head to college, but I'm aware of how much it really costs to go to medical school. I've been denied some scholarships because apparantly my parents make too much money (I never see it though). I need help. I'm smart enough and I'm very sharp under pressure. How can i pay for medical school?

Your best bet is taking out loans. You will make enough money to pay it off, trust me. You will have enough money to donate to the homeless too.

I had much the same problem a few years ago when I began law school. The good news is, although your family may make too much money to go on scholarship, the government and loan companies will finance your entire education(including money to live, pay rent etc with) until you graduate through loans. It's not ideal, but luckily once you're a surgeon you'll be making so much money paying loans back won't matter.

Also, I have several med school friends who have recieved grants once they are actually in school. Grants are similar to scholarships in that they do not have to be paid back, but usually you have to write a proposal or something to get them.

Lastily if you still have a few years yet until you need to apply, do as well as you can and perhaps you'll qualify for academic scholarships. If you're a minority(not just racially, women, playing a certain sport, and economic status can all qualify for minority compensation) then the odds of you getting money increase.

Don't let money get in the way of you achieving your dream!

you can apply for financial aid for med school after you graduate, and you wont have to include your parents income...so it would be based on yours alone...therfore you would be qualified for grants, and loans
