only if you are in management or operations of some sort retail pays minimum wage thats it.

I worked at a TJ maxx in upstate NY for 6 months. They paid me minumum wage ($6.00) for unrelenting labor. If you ever got overtime they make sure to stiff you in hours next time just because they dont want to pay.
I also had a second job and it was just enough to get by on my own. Thankfully I had a girlfriend whos family enjoyed to feed me often. If you have any specific questions please ask.

In SoFla, TJ Maxx will make more than min wage. I'd say about $6.50/hour, but you can't live off of that and support a kid.

tj maxx pays LOW wages...you cannot support yourself on that let alone with a child.......go find another place that actually pays a person enough to LIVE on!!
