my brother works as a cashier at a local HANNAFORD and he makes around $7.80 @ 16 years old. he works a lot now that he's 16 and he makes about $150-$200 a week. thats approximately $7800-$10400 a year. in about four years you can make approximately $31200-$41600. thats if you save every penny. but if you dont save every penny, you can still put a buttload of money down and reduce the monthly payments by alot. thats not including any promotions or raises that he gets along the way.
the way i figured the pay was i took his weekly paycheck and multiplied it by 52 weeks in a year (150*52=7800 200*52=10400) then i took the answers i got and multiplied it by 4 years (7800*4=31200 10400*4=41600)
hope the information given helps you in your search
the theory that the above answerer has about the legal limit for hiring is rubbish. i'm 14 and got hired at the local hannaford. my brother was 15 when he started working there. don't listen to that stuff.

considering that at the age of 14-16, employers have restrictions about how many hours they can employ you (NOT full time), working a job is the least probable way in which you'll make that kind of money you want.
You need to start an enterprise of your own:
here's an example: a 14-year-old bought a used lawn mower. She used borrowed money to do this and paid off the loan within a few weeks.
After that, mowing lawns for neighbors was pure profit.
She sank some of the profit back into her business by buying another used lawn mower and 'hiring' a friend as a 'sub contractor' to do some of the lawn mowing. She kept back 25% of each job the friend did because she owned the equipment.
In order to get business, she printed a batch of flyers on the computer, including some advertising slangs such as:
lawn mowing, yard cleanup
Prompt, reliable, friendly service!
And added her phone number.
She kept an appointment book, scheduled jobs with her customers and was always on time.
To get the flyers out, she distributed them door to door in the neighborhood.

Hybrids are a bad investment, even if they didn't cost twice the price of most other cars.
Those engines wear out MUCH sooner than regular cars, and will cost $6-$8,000 to replace.
Trust me, in a few years, nobody is going to be buying hybrids anymore, just like nobody is buying electric cars now, and a few years ago, those were going to save us all.
Plus, this global warming stuff is a complete hoax.
Anyway, when I was your age, I went around the nieghborhood doing yardwork. There are 2 16 year old girls working at the print shop I work at, part time, through a program at their school.
Ask a school counselor about this, they might be able to set you up.

Look for a job in the restaurant business.
Start off as a hostess or host, but inform the boss that you're interested in training to be a waitress.
I work the counter and hostess at my dad's restaurant and ill make like 20 bucks in tips and then 36 for the hours i put in as a hostess. The waitressing is so simple and I really only get 2 customers per hour and it's really easy to carry the food since I'm right there. And I just started.
The actual waitresses make about 120 dollars for one morning on the weekend.
So if you work the weekends you could make 240$.
And by the way, employers like people who move customers in and out and do it fast.

keep dreaming! you wont be able to afford that... maybe a good lump some of a down payment on the hybrid and keep paying monthly... good luck though. if you get a job, and the older you get, it is hard to save money for teenagers... especially because you want to go out with friends to the mall and stuff so maybe by the time you go to college yu will change our mind and want a cheaper car... plus the prices might not even be that much by then.

Until you are 16, no-one is legally allowed to hire you, so your best bet is odd jobs around the neighborhood. Put up flyers EVERYWHERE, and consider doing some or all of the following:
Dog walking
Dog Sitting
Shoveling snow
Raking leaves
Mowing the lawn
Weeding and other gardening ideas
Housecleaning
Babysitting
And I will tell you something about the car - you will probably be able to get it cheaper at that point, and the way that most people afford cars is to get a car loan and make payments.

Usually a young teen will work at restaurants, entertainment(such as movie theaters and theme parks), and chain stores such as Target and Wal-mart.
As a 14-16 year old I doubt you will be able to get a good car as you are wishing for.
I recommend getting a part-time job and working as much as possible if yearning to get a new car.
Hope that I helped!
~thanks
