Is it becoming socially acceptable enough for men to have pierced ears that it is no longer looked down upon by employers?

Judging for myself, I would have to say it is getting a little more socially acceptable for men to have earrings.
I am in my 30's & now have a silver hoop in each ear. Last year, after going back & forth about getting it done, I pierced my left ear with a small diamond stud. After two weeks, I went out & got the right ear pierced with another diamond stud. At first I did get a lot of second looks, but now I don't think anyone give it a second thought.
If you you want to get one, I would totally recommend it. A little advise, don't agonize to much before you do it & don't regret it after you do.

Good Luck!!!!

I wish it were totally true. You're certainly seeing a lot more men of "older" ages wearing earrings which will in turn translate into more acceptance in the work place, but I find that there is an attitude that "the public" still condemns it - therefore, you're stuck taking your earrings out to "avoid offending" someone.

Personally, I think it's great that men are wearing piercings of various sorts.. why should women have all the fun? What about boobs and vagina translates into acceptable puncture wounds to the ears / nose / or other?

its completely acceptable in society but i guess its also matter of opinion because i cannot stand to see a guy with pierced ears. he seems gay or idk, its just something about a man wearing earings that i find uncomfortable. depending on the situation most of the time i stiffle a laugh
