I am a very smart, easy going, wise person who wants to become well know in the world. I crave to be a leader in the corporate world. I have always dreamed of starting my own business by my own or with someone else. I am very ambitious and very keen of business ways. I see myself becoming sucessful when I become a leader, not a follower, and want to be financially sucessful. I look up to people like Bloomberg and Donald Trump (Just a little). My father, however, is not very fond of this. He would rather see my becoming a doctor or lawyer because they are definite ways of becoming rich. But law is boring and dull and medicine is disgusting (I don't mind the sight of blood, but I don't like opening someone up to remove a tumor). I know that starting a business is hard work and very demanding, but I am willing to sacrifice it all to fulfill my dreams. Any suuggestions or stories???

You go for it. Be prepared for long days and vexing moments. Owning a small business is one of the best ways to go from profound exhilaration to sheer terror in one day. I have ran my biz for 16 years-here are some thoughts in random order:

DON"T do it with a partner. That is nearly always a disaster. Work with cash. It's tempting to take out a big biz loan, but 75%+ of all new businesses fail. If you do fail, you will know better what to do next time, and not owing a zillion dollars will make the restart easier. Have some clients before you quit your day job. Persistence will equal your success.

just do what you want. If your dad is still being belligerent that's his problem.
