I work for a leading fashion retailer. Beginning from 2005 I stood out as a star employee. I was quickly made shift supervisor with various and extensive duties. I now have traveled around the US opening stores and training all staff along with training managers in my own home store. However even though I do many things beyond the realm of a sales associate, I am unable to become a manager due to my bad credit. My financial situation now leaves me no room to attempt to pay my debt after various attempts. How can I convince my superiors that I am worthy of such promotion? My work ethic is nothing short of strong and I am constantly viewed as a vital associate from my trainees and customers. Still I am viewed as a risk. I have been offered 2 promotions in the last 6 months to have them taken away from me because of this horrible problem. I feel I should be allowed to slip under the radar so I can actually make the money to pay off my debt.

My job is boring, not very challenging at all and while it is in the line of work I am interested in, it is not the job I want in the industry. There is very little potential for promotion and the little chance there is will not become available until 1.5 year from now. However, I love my group! First group I felt like I was really a part of. We have similar personalities and work as a team.

If I were to get an offer to do the work I want to do for a different company for a bit more pay, should I take the position?

Ok, so I just started this job with this group today. The job is basically going out and talking to people on the street and convincing them to donate money for our environmental campaign. The problem is that the managers in the office tell us that the money is going towards lobbying efforts but then the CO of the group says that not much of the money goes to toward lobbying.

I asked a few other people in the office and they said they have no idea either. I don't like the job very much but I don't really have much of an option moneywise. And although I am passionate about the environment, I don't think that I would be able to push my doubt aside and give my best to my job. What should I do?

I am a single mom, now pregnant and recently single. The kids dad won't work so he doesnt' have to pay me. So I am going on maternity leave where I am not allowed to work at all. I don't want to do the food bank, I am capable and willing to work, jsut not allowed to while on maternity. So I am thinking of babysitting for cash and stuff under the table and stuff I can do at home and stay with my baby. I need to support my kids. Should I do it? I don't think I'd get caught.

I am in my Senior year of high school and I always thought I would become a lawyer and it seemed the most plausible because I love history and I am pretty good at english and I think I would do really well in a law profession. But, recently I been really, really intersted in becoming a doctor althought I really not good in with sciences I can pull a B with a lot of work. I know the chioce seems cliché whether to become a doctor or lawyer I am quite torn. If anyone has any insight it would be greatly apperiated. thanks

So, I've been working at this place for about a year now and have recently discovered that this small office is more like High School! So I work by myself saturdays and most days i close by my self so I was able to do some detective work. I have found so far about 25 notes passed between the other 4 girls (two of them are my boss' favorites, BTW) who work here, and all about me. They just saying stuff to be mean, just plain mean. I'm scared to tell my boss because there are rumors that he fired people for not liking the other "kids" (as he puts it) or for not being a "team player." I'm not passionate about my job but it definately pays the bills and lets me have some entertainment money too. Should I Quit? Should I ignore it and probably just wait to be fired? It just breaks me down, we used to all be kinda friends but it just seems like they need some one to pick on....geez I've been out of high school for 9 years!! I just need some fast advice!

I recently applied for a job that is perfect for me!
The interview went really well....so much that the hiring manager wanted me to meet her boss!
She told me that a final decision would be made in a couple of weeks....however, one of my references told me that they were contacted today.
Does this mean they are close to making a decision?

I recently applied for a job at SEARS, I have been through the interview process both with the assistant manager and the store manager, I already took a drug test and I don't know I was just wondering how long it took for those people out there that are currently working out there for SEARS to call you and tell you that you could start working. If so then how did you find the job? (mostly interested in people working in the electronic department)

I went for the group interview at A & F a week and a half ago but never got called back. Im going back again tommorrow for the interview but for a different position. Would anyone recommend doing this? I got this one very rude comment from an employee at A & F on yahoo answers saying the following: "Your not suppose to apply at Abercrombie & Fitch unless you were referred by someone who works there!" I found that comment very degrading and discriminating. A person like this should be reported to the U.S. Department of Labor !!! If I were a lawyer I would file lawsuit against this person for discrimination !!!
