You can report it to your HR department or your state employee rights department, Their number should be listed some where around the poster showing minimum wage. Also check out the link bellow.

This is some thing that could cost you your job. If your company is allowing things like this to happen, you should find another job and leave anyway.

So what.
Who knows why he asked you. He may be testing your response. Managers don't get paid overtime, maybe there's a promotion down the road.
Maybe he used as the allocated O/T and he needs help to finish the job.
There could be a lot of reasons. Running to HR is not an option as h e will not forget if he gets reprimanded.
It's like someone asking you do them a favour. I don't expect him do have you work off the clock ALL THE TIME. Some companies pay O/T after 35 hours and others pay O/T after 45.
I don't see the issue.

Ask your boss to forego a weeks pay and you'll work off the clock.

As for talking to anyone, that' won't be necessary, just don't work off the clock.

does your company have a confidential WOC number? Your boss asking you to work off the clock is illegal. If you are not sure, talk to his/her boss or contact someone from human resources.
