Call up one of these places and ask them what they are looking for. See if they will also tell out how they did it. Sometimes a mentor will work wonders.

Good Luck.

Do you really want to be an event planner, or do you think it is something you feel that is fun to do, with good pay?

Most good event planners have a talent for the business and a severe desire to do it.

My best suggestion is to get an internship, or apprenticeship, or some sort of involvement into an existing business and see all of the details involved.

There is a lot to do. You need math and accounting skills and clean organization.

You need a "designer's sense" and the gift to gab, because pleasing everyone at the same time is impossible. PR skills.

Planning, organizing, business license, insurance, phone bills, etc.... Contacts to other business relations, companies and partners, bakeries, hotels, convention centers, halls, Clients, etc....

You got to love the job to do it.

VERY hard field to get into, so make sure you do a lot of research. The salary is dependent upon your ability to market yourself (if in business for yourself) and to close the deal. If you know any, try talking to an event planner and maybe shadow that person for a day.

The event organizer in any company is usually the person who has no real skill or talent, just the ability to call a travel agent and a Hotel. If you were good at any real job, you would not be an event planer. It is a token roll usually filled by some unqualified minority.

I don't think u don't need any major qualification, like degree, for it. It's a fun and interesting job involving management and communication skills. May have to sacifice days where by ppl relax at home and u have to work. Have not have very good pay especially at the beginning. Need to have passion for it. Good Luck!

First of all, lose the expression, "stuff like that." I'm sorry, but it is very immature.
I would speak to a counselor and get good, solid advise. In regards to salary, it depends on what company you work for, or,if in business for yourself, how sucessful that business is. The better organized YOU are, the better chance you have at being a success. I wish you the very best of luck.

Communications, Public Relations, and Management

Quite, especially if you're popular yourself and have lots of friends in the businesses you're interested to plan events with.

it would be better to talk with a career counselor in your school (assuming you are still in school) because they can give you in depth and factual information

What!
Is that a real job?
It is called a hobby where I come from!
And it is voluntary, NOT paid!
