Very few. However, you do have the right to find another job...unless you're in a stinking union.

Join the union, there must be one around your area, this is a place where all employees are experiencing some kind of trouble in their work place.
My sister had the some problem she joined the union there is a small fee to pay to be part of the union, but, all the years she worked for her boss he ended up paying her half an hour each day, 7 days a week for 6 years. He had to its the law.My sister had to go and pick up her kid from school, she would close the shop at 5 but she had to cash up and clean up before she left the premises and her bosses knew but did not care so she had enough and took all the steps and she got a nice back pay. You see they are breaking the law by keeping you there either they should pay you or you go home. Companys cannot use employees like that, its not fair on you or anyone else that gets treated that way and lucky this is the law and its up to you to do something about it, otherwise you will be used extra time to make your boss more money, and you wasting half an hour of your life for nothing. DONT LET THEM USE YOU LIKE THAT !!!!
Be strong-- life is too short

Unless you have an employment contract, either individually or as part of a collective bargaining unit, your employment is considered "at will" and the terms of employment can change without notice, up to and including termination of employment without notice or reason.

If your employer isn't willing to work with you, especially if you notified him prior to hiring on of your class committments, it's probably time to start looking for a new job. Keep their lack of cooperation in mind when deciding how much notice to give -- "at will" is a 2-way street!
